I got this printer at a yard sale but no drivers or software. how can I obtain those ?

HP have one of the best after sales services you can get , find the genning HP after sales service on line, enter your product number/model and problem ,its will search for your product and search for problem. then they give download of driver or other bits to be replaced at no cost, and they can or you can download a HP SUPPORT ASSISTANT or you can download first a HP support assistant but make sure it's a genning HP site

It is on the packaging or you must contact the software supplier Fixya does not have that information

Did you make sure the printer was turned on when you plugged it in? If the power is not turned on, the computer will not find the printer. If you had it on, then reboot your laptop and press whatever key allows you to go into system setup. Once there, check the various areas until you find where it asks if you have a Plug and Play operating system. If it says "NO", change it to "YES".

If you've done all these, then try installing the software first, until it tells you to plug in the USB cable. If you've followed all these instructions and still cannot get the printer recognized by your computer, chances are the printer is bad - which would explain it being sold at a yard sale.

Just go to Lexmark.com and click on support and drivers type in the model of printer and it will give you the software you need.

this printer was given to me as a gift and I don't have the software, is there a site i can download it from. please help me I don't want to throw it away.

try HERE or if link does not work www.canon.com and select your country, support, driver downloads, use drop downs to select your scanner and then select driver downloads.

You want Canoscan toolbox and the the driver (check your operating system - XP or VISTA)

If you have already tried to connect the scanner then I recommend you d/l and run DelDrv to remove any incorrect drivers first.

Then install the driver BEFORE connecting scanner to USB port (or when prompted to do so by driver s/w)

Then install scantoolbox software

It connects to the computer with a USB cable.

Be sure to unplug the USB cable from the computer BEFORE installing the software, and ONLY plug it in when prompted to do so by the on-screen instructions.
