Hi,

It would seem that your black print head is in need of cleaning. You could try cleaning the printhead from the HP Control Panel, Setup, 5, 2. In the "Tools" menu pls select "Clean Printhead".

Alternately, you can try using "HP Image Zone" which presumably was installed during the initial setup of the 3300.

Thereafter, it may be necessary to do an alignment (specially if a new cartridge was installed). Repetitive printhead cleaning consumes ink and of course would make your cartridge last definitely shorter.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Please run a printer alignment exercise. Then do a print head cleaning exercise. If these does not solve the problem then try to reset you printer. Clear the printer memory. Please follow the user manual to perform the steps.

Caution! Do not touch the gold-colored contacts or ink nozzles.
Once you have removed the plastic tape, install the print cartridge
immediately to prevent the ink from drying in the nozzles.

4 Hold the black or photo print cartridge with the HP label on top. Slide the print cartridge at a slight angle up into the right side of the print carriage.
Press firmly until the print cartridge snaps into place.
Caution! Do not attempt to push the cartridge straight into the slot.
It must slide in at a upward slight angle.

Blurred printing

There's a narrow window above where the drum sits that gets covered with toner, wipe it with a soft cloth, also check if the image in the blurred area wipes off which means something could be wrapped around the fuser roller. Inspect the drum too, if you see a dark band where the blurrs are, you need a new drum.
