I have a archos 402 camcorder and camera had about 2yrs only used handful of times cannot charge was put away in drawer never regwould like to get it fixed was bought on online telly shopping how do i go about this

i think it has battery problem. its not charge properly. check its cable or other wise change the battery with new one

problem solved by friend who found a by-pass socket for charger on camera which charged battery enough to close tape drawer. Thank you

Try turning the unit on with the hard drive disconnected. When I did this (mine had a similar problem) a screen came up and asked me if I wanted to format. I plugged the hard drive back in and reformatted. I had to format twice, but after that it worked fine.

Hi there this may seem a silly question but the ear phones you are using are a stereo ear phone? or the adaptor to your archos is a stereo one?

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.

Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times. good luck

If you have problems with the file system on your Gmini you can try to fix it using the DOS utility, check disk (chkdsk). Do the following; ? Make sure external AC adapter is powering the Gmini. ? Quit all running applications. ? Properly connect the Gmini to your computer ? Wait patiently (up to 5 minutes) for Windows XP to show the local drive as mounted. ? Open a DOS window. Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. ? At the prompt, type chkdsk e: /f. Use e: or f: or whatever drive letter is representing your Gmini. The /f argument tells the program to automatically fix errors. ? Be patient, this may take a while. ? When it is finished, exit the DOS Window and properly disconnect the Gmini from your computer. Try using the device now and see if makes any difference. This method should help to fix any disc errors that have occurred within the FAT and help your PC recognise it again. If you have more problems, try formatting it using a DOS prompt. You MUST make sure NOTHING is trying to access the disc before you can format it - this includes windows explorer.
