My Timex Expedition Indiglo wrist watch has had two new batteries and keeps on stopping quite frequently. The Jewler cleaned everything and it still won't work properly. Is there somewhere that I can send it to for proper repair? It is about 5 years old. Thanks Jen

The watch would have to go back to the manufacture, try www.timex.com for customer support and ask for technical assistance, they should be able to direct you to the nearest authorized store or they may have you send it to them.

The light was fading on my Indiglo Timex watch but it was still keeping good time, so I had a new battery installed by a Walmart employee. The light now works on the watch but the watch stopped keeping...

mcdevito75 here, Your Timex watch is most likely an Indiglo meaning light, The battery supplies power to to Quatz mechanism for time keeping and for the light. There is a very good possibility that 1 or 2 of the contacts between the battery and the Quatrz mechanism were lost during the new battery installation. While you can"t rule out that the Quartz mechanism and or the light may be wearing down, you still have to suspect the battery even a new battery, look for a small watch repair shop in your area and try another battery, let the jewler know of your watches problem so he / she can properly install the battery and ensure the contacts between the Quartz and the battery are being made.

I have a timex HRM. The indigo light just stopped working. I've had it for 3 weeks. There is a faint light on the edge, but it doesn't illuminate the face. Everything else works normal. Any ideas?

Check out if your watch has second battery for Indiglo function. It is quite common for Timex watches to have two batteries - one for movement and another for Indiglo.

My watch has stopped keeping time but i can still hear it clicking. The indiglo still works as well so its not the battery. i will change the time and it will work again untill about 30 seconds to 1 minute...

Quartz watches do get gummy or dirty gears and slow down or just quit. I know that I have the cleaning chemicals that generally works to unstick the gears, but I also have the equipment that pulses the watch with enough power to get the mechanism working again. If that doesn't work then it's time to replace the movement with a new one. This is generally cheaper than spending lots of money on the labor to get the old movement working again. Best of luck on this one.

Indiglo has died on over 10 of my Timex watches

If they have replaced that many watches in that short period, I'm going to say that it isn't the watch.

Timex watches are equipped with some of the largest and strongest batteries in the industry and have some of the best reserve potentials. Have you ever replaced a battery and did it make a difference?

Do you use a magnetic bracelet or work around strong magnetic fields - either of which can deplete a battery - generally in about four months? If so, put the bracelet and watch on opposite wrists. This is usually not a problem with a digital watch. I suspect it's because the magnet makes the analog movement work harder and depletes the battery faster.

And some people just can't wear a certain watch. My mother is one of them. There is something electrical or magnetic about my mother that keeps her from wearing a mechanical watch. When I was a kid, the only watch she could wear was a green plastic Davy Crockett watch.

And 50 years ago, my left handed brother gave me his hand-me-down Timex when it quit working for him. I put it on my left wrist and got several more years of wear out of the watch. I think he wore out the movement on one side wearing it on his right wrist and I wore out the jewels on the other side wearing it on my left wrist.
