Most likely the router is not configured for dhcp or is not renewing to pull an address from your new provider. You will need to login to the router and check the WAN ip address settings. Choose dynamic ip address (it may be currently set for for static or another option based on your previous provider). Once you choose and save the settings, click to renew the WAN ip. If you were already set for DHCP and the address is correct, you may still have an issue with DNS,.. the DNS addresses may be incorrect or non existent. If you have doubts about DNS addresses,.. you may change them to 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222 (opendns) and they will work with most providers (including comcast)

Yes. D-LINK would be *STUPID* to try to market a router that is *NOT* compatible with *ALL* cable-modem (or DSL-modem) units.
