My Kenmore propane oven is taking long then time needed to bake something

Hello,

A very common problem when gas(both propane and natural) oven takes longer to heat properly is going to be a weak igniter . Since its weak its not fully opening the gas valve and not enough gas is flowing to produce the proper flame size/heat. By replacing the oven igniter it will heat as its supposed to .

Oven heating really slow

yes it sounds as if there is a "HOT-SPOT" on the element which will look like a dis colored spot and will be either bubbled up or have pock marks where its burning thru and can no longer pass sufficient current to heat the element fully

Our oven doesn't heat and smells like gas

This sounds like a weak igniter, it would have to be a gas oven and the symptoms usually are: takes longer than normal to ignite the burner, may or may not smell gas in the oven, does not maintain set temperature or burner does not come on fully, eventually won't heat at all. On gas ovens, a glo igniter is like a light bulb, the more you cook, the faster it wears out. Bottom line, needs to be replaced. Good luck.

Oven takes 20 minutes to fully heat on bake - Kenmore oven plt095-2

if its a gas model most of the time you will have a weak oven ignitor. if an electric, check to see if the bake element gets hot ,some ovens will bake with upper and lower elements so if only the upper works it will take much longer to pre-heat.good luck!

Oven not heating properly - 25-50 degrees off - do I look at the heating element or what do I do?

if its off but heats fully i.e. 500 degrees then check for a defective thermocouple or oven temp control not an element

Zanussi zbf 760 (9 yrs old now)

This tutorial will show you how to check your Zanussi element and how to replace your Zanussi cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  1. Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Zanussi manual.
  2. If you're Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  3. When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.
