My Pavillion dv 1000 wont read a micro SD card (in adapter) My camera recognizes and uses the card fine (with adaptor). My laptop recognizes standard sized SD cards fine also. It is not a HC micro SD. Suggestions?

My reader will not read mine either. I use a usb key card reader. It used to read the regular old SD cards but the new HC card format wont work. This is due to UDF differences. You can try to reformat the card but then your camera or device may not recognize it anymore. good luck

Your camera uses xD cards, not SD. Now if you are using a micro-SD adapter, make certain that the cards you are using are 2GB or less standard micro-SD cards. Your camera will not work with 4GB or larger micro-SDHC cards as that format had not yet been invented when your camera came out.

You should have 2 components with your micro SD card. The card, a small adaptor and a large adaptor. All you need to do is see what size adaptor your read needs. You place the card in the tiny slot in the adaptor and slide it in the reader. The computer will find the micro SD and install the driver to read it. Then it will give you an option to open the files. That is how 99% of them work.

THERE is a tweak with the cards you insert on your picture mate, to be honest these things dont recognize memory cards that are above 2 gig. they also dont recognize some brands. the most compatible as per experience is sandisk

I guess you put the SD adapter into the card reader right out of the box? You first may have to partition/format it after unpacking it. Under WinXP I can recommend an utility "DiskPart" which you can start from the command prompt (Run... -> cmd). For further instructions (if it sounds to you to be the problem ) contact me again.

heya have a 4gb micro sd for my mobile phone i can put music and stuff on it but the phone wont read the card my friends say i have to activate it first how do i do this thanks>>>

1) There is SD card reader on pavilion dv 1000, so you need adapter in which you insert mini SD card to make it SD
2) If you have that adapter, check adapter. Maybe it's broken.
3) If your card is biger, like 2GB or higher you may try updatenig drivers (I read on one web page: " There was a software update for support of reading and using higher memory SD cards, for my pavilion ZV5000, on the HP Software update website." )

what is the brand of ur flash memory card. some doesn't get recognized in OS lower than XP.. you might need a driver for it... knowing the brand would help.
