The dryer operates both on 120VAC and 240VAC. The motor and the controls are hooked up on 120VAC whereas the heating circuit is on 240VAC.

The problem here is likely with the thermal cut-off and the high-limit thermostat located on the heater housing. Disconnect power then pry the lower access panel off with a flat-head screwdriver as shown.

Disconnect the red wire from the thermal cut-off and the red/white stripe wire from the heater. Connect the red wire disconnected from the thermal cut-ofKenmore Electric Dryer Model 110.69902890 - jahn27_88.jpger terminal where the red/white stripe wire is disconnected from.

Reconnect power then start the dryer. The problem is indeed with the two bypassed components if the dryer heats up. Replace both the thermal cut-off and the high-limit thermostat and it should solve the heating problem. Do not use the dryer with those parts bypassed due to high risk of fire hazards.

Whirlpool AWZ 410 washer dryer is not generating any hot air when drying. The dryer drum is tumbling but with cool air only.

Unplug the unit and take the top with the screws holding the lid on. Take a look at all of the wires on the top of the machine. You might notice broken/burnt wires on the safeties that are close to or that directly activate the heating element located in the blower housing located at the top of this washer/dryer condensing unit.

Kenmore Gas Dryer does not dry clothes.

If this is the electric version then after 15 years you probably need a new heating element, they are not difficult to install and are not terribly expensive as a DIY project.

Dryer doesn't "dry"... eletrician/husband inspected the unit- circuits working for heating element. Belt intact. Dryer tumbles, but doesn't get HOT. Thermostat?

It depends on if the unit is electric or gas. Both will have a thermal fuse if the venting is restricted the fuse will blow if its a whirlpool or kenmore brand. The thermal fuse is white and will be either located on the back or in the front by the blower housing. If the lint screen is located in the top the fuse will be in the back. Have your husband take a look at the schematic he should be able to find the fuse. Also i know he probalby checked this but the unit needs 240v for the unit to heat if its electric but the motor will still run with 120v. Make and model would allow me to help much more.

GE Dryer Model #DWSR483EB2WW Dryer tumbles,

Does it get hot when you start the dryer, and never gets hot again when its running? The solenoid wire might be opening due to heat, the solenoid is responsible for opening the gas valve, and booster valve. The wire is located in a round plastic sleeve with two electrical contacts sticking out.

Maytag model MDE7057AYW 5600 Watts dryer runs ,but

5600 watts will not operate off 120 volts.
This is a 220/240 volt hookup.
There are 2 legs of 120 volts each that operate the dryer.
The only part requiring 220v is the heater.
Otherwise 120v routes through the various controls and relays.
