Try tilting the vacuum to about a 45 degree angle. Gently tug and release the cord a few times. This usually will release the cord. If not, the cord winder may have broken, or the spring came loose, and it needs replaced/repaired. Take it to the nearest Aerus Electrolux store for help/repair.

Schematic on a TSC10SA BAIT CASTING

I'm sorry, I don't have information on a specific TSC10SA bait casting reel. However, most baitcasting reels have similar components and can be reassembled in a similar manner. Here are some general steps you can follow to reassemble your reel:
  1. Place the spool back into the reel frame.
  2. Insert the spool shaft into the spool and secure it with the spool retainer.
  3. Place the side plate back onto the reel frame, making sure the spool shaft and spool retainer are in the correct position.
  4. Insert the brake adjustment knob and secure it with the knob screw.
  5. Insert the thumb bar and secure it with the thumb bar screw.
  6. Place the handle back onto the reel and secure it with the handle screw.
  7. Tighten all screws and make sure the spool spins freely.
It's always a good idea to consult the manufacturer's manual for specific instructions and diagrams on reassembling your reel. If you have lost the manual, you can often find one online by searching for the make and model of your reel.

I have a kenmore 7120. The cord will not wind up.. I have taken it apart and I can get it to wind half way up. Is there anything else that I can be done.

First, make sure the mechanism isn't so loaded with dust that friction is dragging it to a halt before it should. If the spring mechanism appears to be working properly, manually wind the power cord on the spool just enough so you'll have a small amount of tension on the cord when you put everything back together. It's possible the spring has become weak with use, but a rewind may let you get some more life out of it before have to replace it.

Vacuum starts then stops

It sounds like a break in the cord or a loose connection at a plug. If the cord is self winding then it could be contacts on the spool too.

The cord is jammed and won't come out, is this an easy fix?

it should be, you can open it up and rethread the cord around the spool

The cord on my electrolux Epic 6500 has been pulled too far out and will not rewind. How can I access the cord reel to rewind?

There are two keys holding the body together, underneath the bumpers on the side of the vac. With the bag door open these keys when gripped with pliers will slide forward to release the body panels.

Before opening the vac, gently push the cord back inside the housing.
2 possibilities:
If the spool rotates and allows the cord to push in , the body must be disassembled, and the cord winder removed and the spring reloaded. This is tricky work. you will need to wind the entire cord onto the spool, then load 3.5 rotations onto the coil spring for tensioning, then reassemble. It's a bit like working on a land mine of you're new at it. Wear safety glasses.

BUT if the spool is locked from the outside and the cord wont push in or pull out, a fine , long blade screwdriver can be inserted diagonal to the body through the cord slot and with luck you can lift a cog of the spool releasing tension and the rewind will work. try that first , but be gentle . You must release the cord spool allowing a a dog ear catch cog to release inside by gently lifting upwards.
Post back to say how you made out,
Or look for an AERUS Electrolux service shop.

I have an Electrolux Model G. I have to take the

Wow an old but a goody.Electrolux rewinds of this age are like land mines. Be very cautious.
The G is similar to its cousin the model 89. In the 89 a service tech would remove the housing cover with the cord spool held secure and stationary stationary and the housing laying flat. Sometimes a clothes pin or small clamp on the outside of the cord housing.....
Once inside there would be a spool with the cord would on and that spool had both a flat metal spring half visible below the side of the spool and and an open center bearing race. Only half the spring would be exposed from above and a special clamp tool was used to reach in and clamp the spring before any parts were disturbed. You might get away with a set of long skinny needle nose pliers but you must not kink the spring by doing so. Then if removing the spool, you would invert the rewind over an ice cream pail to drop the loose bearings , or remove them with a magnetic screwdriver tip.
If your spring is damaged you will get one through Aerus Electrolux , originally Electrrolux US.
If your cord has given way and you are exceptionally careful, without removing the spool you can desolder the terminals on the bakelite spool inside, drill out the rivets holding the contact ring and shorten the cord . this is far easier than attempting to install a new cord .The next step would be to resolder the cord and re rivet the spool contact ring with a pop riveter and washers to secure the tabs cut out in the ring.
If you remove the entire cord you will have to clamp the spring so a snot to lose its unwound tension. This is VERY tricky. Best of luck . please post back to advise what happens. If you impatient, don't even consider this one, just find another G for parts and steal the rewind

Also have a Kenmore Model 116. Power retractor not holding cord

The cord winder on these is spring loaded and has cog which is meant to lock with every full rotation of the spool the cord winds onto. It is tricky to work on.
Try pulling a bit more slowly and see if the rewind will stop.
The back housing on top of the vac needs to be removed to access the rewind. The housing snaps into place at the back corners, generally must be carefully pried and popped off by someone familiar with the vac. Some models may also have 2 screws under the lid in the bag area.

My sebo airbelt k2 won't start

Hi It could be two things = one problem is that the cord in Sebo's K model has a bad habit of shearing thanks to its auto pull rewind mechanism. This would have to be replaced by a Sebo repairer.
Or it could be the actual electric socket if the bonded plug is loose - if there are wires visible at the end of the plug then the plug would have to be replaced. Its a common fault on Sebo's K models when the power stops thanks to shearing cords.

Plastic Slides

use a screwdriver to pry up one end. there's a little nubbie that snaps into the canister, then its just a matter of pulling the strip off.
the back part with the rewind has two snaps on top internally. use a screwdriver to pry the back part down and out both sides and the rewind will come out.
