Hello:

Try these troubleshooting tips:

1. If this is happening at home, it could be your network setup is having issues, turn off your router/modem, wait 2 minutes, and then turn the router back on.. wait for the router to connect and then try again..

OR

2. Go to:
Settings > WiFi > (remove your network & then re-add it, don't forget you need your WiFi password in order to log back in)

OR

3. Go to:
Settings > Connections (Network Connections) > More Networks > turn on Airplane Mode > wait a few seconds and then turn off Airplane Mode

4. Go to:
Settings > My Device > Turn Power Saving Mode Off

Samsung Galaxy S 4G Smartphone: WiFi disconnects (have to restart phone to reconnect, does not scan for WiFi connections):

Hello. It could be that your "Auto Network Switch" setting is on..

What Auto Network Switch does: when the WiFi gets too low the phone automatically switches to cellular, and when cellular connection gets too low, the phone will switch to WiFi

All Samsung Galaxy's are not alike for it's menu settings.. but you can try:

for S4 and up:
Settings>hold down on WiFi settings for a second then let go > un-check box at top for "Smart Network Switch"

If your device is having issues trying to scan for your router.. try turning off your router for 2 minutes, then turn it back on.. make sure you wait a few minutes for your router to properly boot back up before you try scanning for your WiFi network again

You will need to be sure that there is wifi turned on in the area that you are trying to use your phone.
Then you try to go through the wifi list on the phone and delete all the wifi that it has ever seen and worked with. Then you turn off the phone for about 5 minutes, then you turn it on and turn on the wifi on the phone and search for the wifi available, that way it will search for the available wifi and connect to it.

When you pull down your 'message screen' by pulling your finger down from the top of the phone, you have several options like, wifi, gps... one should be for Mobile data. make sure this is turned on. if it is turned on, turn your phone off, take out the battery and sim card for ten minutes, then turn your phone back on and try again.

1. Turn off the i9000 phone or take out the battery and reinsert it.

2. Hold the Volume Down button
3. Press and release the Power button
4. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
