Sounds like the float in the carburetor is stuck open. remove the float bowl and use a parts cleaner or carb cleaner and spray down the float and seat area, make sure that the float moves freely and the seat moves and seals properly.

What would cause oil to get into the combustion chamber

Had same problem. Likely if you smell the oil dipstick you\'ll smell gas and it will be thin from gas getting pushed passed piston ring into crank case. Drain oil and flush out crank case with fresh oil. Then add new oil. To fix fuel pressure. Install or make sure fuel filter is installed in series in fuel line. Locate a 2 inch stretch of straight fuel line. You will cut it clean here. Go to hardware or power outdoor store and buy a generic fuel or gas cock (shut off valve). Install the this valve in the fuel line. Now fill tank with gas with the fuel valve off. When, and only when you are ready to turn the key, turn the gas cock on. Turn key, start up and use machine. Now the next important thing is do not turn off the key BEFORE you turn off the gas cock. Turn off the gas cock and let the engine run out of gas naturally. This is how you will operate the machine from now on. Gas cock on, start, gas cock off, run out of gas, turn off key. This is the repair method from Briggs and Stratton and Koehler. This was the answer I got. And it works. If you inspect new machines or generators today, there are gas cocks on them now! Power washers too. Good luck!

2001 sunfire start good cold but not when engine is hot

It sounds like you have a "flooding" problem, where you are getting too much fuel on the warm start. It takes more fuel to start a cold engine than a warm one. By holding the pedal the pedal to the floor, you are telling the computer to do a "clear flood" operation, and that lets you start the car. The culprit is probably the Coolant Temperature Sensor. If this is faulty, it will tell the computer that that the coolant (thus the engine) is much cooler than it really is. This results in the engine flooding when warm. It may also run rough at idle after warm start since it is still getting too much fuel. You will also notice a massive loss of fuel economy. Replace the coolant temperature sensor.

Can a bad intake gasket cause my car not to run or run rough

Yes. If it is leaking, the engine is not getting enough air intake. It's the same as disconnecting the PCV valve.

My Z5426 won't start. When I pull out the choke and turn the key, gas starts leaking out of the exhaust system just before it gets to the muffler. Last time it did start, it ran really rough. So, I...

maybe bad fuel, fuel line leaking, flooding of the carburetor, since it did start and ran rough I am assuming that the gas was left set and more then likely this gummed up the carburetor, you will have to clean/rebuild it. If you have a can of carburetor clean you may be able to spray that into there and clean it up, I would not choke it to start it as it sounds like it got/is flooded/ing. Good Luck Tim

87 chevy 350 fuel injected pickup wont run smoothly. Will start fine when cold and run for a few minutes then will be rough idle before finally quitting. I have replaced the distrubuter, coil, plugs, plug...

sounds like your egr valve is gummed up or bad. this is located behind the throttle body and has a single vaccum tube connected to it. if the diafram is still good you can remove it and clean it with WD 40 until the plunger works smooth

Helo i have a k2188-1 welder it burns rough metal and splaters i am new at welding so is it me or the machine i just got it

you will get a lot of spatter when welding. Especially if the metal is not clean. As far as it burning rough metal, I really don't have enough information to help. What do you mean burns rough metal? This particular machine is only rated for 1/8" mild steel. If you are welding thinner than that, it is a good possiblilty that you have your heat too high and the wire feed is not adjusted for your rate of travel correctly. These two things will and can affect the amount of splatter and if it burns your metal. Also your distance from the material to the gun and you also have to have flux core wire since this has no gas inlet to sheild your wire. Hopefully this information will help.
