RT-N56u cannot detect wan ip address.

you will have to open up your network connections

click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark ! ? you will need to update or install the driver or it could be firewalled

If you are trying to connect through a modem/router you it should have come with a disk then
you might have to connect the usb lead to your modem to get a connection then

click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to network adapters should see a yellow question mark? right click install drivers
the driver might be on the disc supplied by your ISP internet service provider
or the motherboard disc

click start type cmd press enter you will be in DOS mode

type in ipconfig press enter

you will see all o fyour internet connection details type in your default gateway adress into your internet search should read something like 10.0.0.138
Make sure you Ethernet/internet is enabled in bios restart your computer during the boot up process you will see on your screen a certain key to press to enter set up (BIOS) press and hold that key to enter bios using arrow keys scroll to intergrated peripherals look for SiS On Chip Pci Device press enter scroll to SiS 10/100m press enter make sure its enabledimake sure its enabledPci device

Printer connected to a Asus router RT-n56u via usb port System with Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit Usb port enable through Asus Printer Utility Driver select (auto) during installation SAMSUNG UNIVERSAL PRINT...

I'm having the same issue with the same router and printer (mine is CLP-300/XXA).
At first when I try t print a pdf file or an image or any text/word document file with pictures/images I get an SPL-C error.
I have upgraded the firmware and it worked great on my laptop! Then, I tried to install the printer driver on my desktop, but now none of them work correctly.

Still not solved, but here are some suggestions:
1. Try to upgrade the firmware. 2. Try to install the original samsung printer driver 3.0.1
3. If it didn't work try to install the updated driver 3.0.4 4. If it didn't work try to install the Universal Printer Driver
5. IMPORTANT: between uninstalling and installing driver, disconnect both printer and router A/C power adapter and try to reboot you PC after removing the previous driver!
I'm going to work on it and see if it works. The DD-WRT firmware solved the exact same problem on my previous RT-N13U router, but unfortunately DD-WRT doesn't support RT-N56U yet!
Note: I called ASUS and they told me that Samsung printers are not supported for printer sharing server :(

Did you download the latest version of the driver from Asus? Thats a pretty old wireless adapter, and Windows XP is pretty ancient these days, so it might just be a limitation of your OS not being able to do it.

Hi,

You cannot install this adapter in a Win 7 computer because the drivers are not compatible with Win 7.
So far Belkin haven't updated the drivers for win 7 OS. The latest drivers for this adapter is compatible only with

" Windows 98SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP 32-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit "

Click here to see the belkin compatible drivers in the website.

You need to enter the wireless key from your router once before the adapter will connect. The key is either on the label on the router or in the wireless section of the router.
