First of all here is a link to the manual....http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200802/20080220095448484_HT-Z410-XAA.pdf and yes it can be conected thru your comcast but you wil need to buy probably cheapest at wallmart an RF Modulator (Less than 20 dollars) and from your cable box (vidieo out, or to tv) install the cable to the rf mod unit (ant in) and that converts it from coaxial cable to rca (meaning a cord with yellow ,red, white push on connectors) plug the red and white into aux input on surround system (see #3 on manual view on backside of surround unit)and and you got it.It your tv does not have a yellow vidieo connection (which is where the the yellow plug into tv)in the back then add a coaxial splitter after the comcast box so that the 1 coax line goes to tv and the other coax goes to the rf mod then thru RCA cables to the surround sound.you may need to buy xtra cables but they are cheap. hope i helped........you may try asking family or friends for the above equipment i described.the newer tv's dont need it and many people have this stuff layen around...good look

Will play dvds with sound fine...but no sound from tv

You have to connect extra red & white audio cable from your TV's (or cable box, if you have one) AUDIO OUT to the Home Theater's AUX IN 2 at the back (below Video In). Set the HTS unit to AUX 2 using the AUX button on the remote control and you should be able to get sound.

Panasonic home theater

switch the HDMI cable to another HDMI port (if available).
or use and AVI/COMPONENT to make sure the device (HOME THEATHER) is working fine.
Try also another HDMI cable or hook another device into it to see how it works.
If you determine the HDMI port in not working properly, then your Mainboard is damaged and need to be replaced, try EBAY for a general picture of prices but you will need your product code wich is located in the back of the TV next to serial number.

No sound thru surround sound system in TV Mode

Hi,
You need to connect your TV to the AUX connection in the back of your HT system. Then set your HT system on AUX 1 and wait about 5 seconds for the TV sound to come through. If it does not work on AUX 1, you may have to try on AUX 2 or AUX 3 settings on your HT system. Make sure the A/V cable you use is good and in working order and is a good quality cable.
Hope that helps, Gary

CAN ONLY GET THE SURROUND SOUND TO WORK WITH DVD'S NOT WITH NORMAL TV OR SKY?? WHY??

You should have a AUDIO menu in which you can simulate true surround sound. This should be in your owners manual. Your DVD is recorded in dolby surround sound that's why on your set it will be reproduced as recorded. I hope Samsung is using a ATSC tuner in that model?

Hooking up cable through ht-x50

You need an Optical Audio Cable. Hook one end to the HD Cable Box and the other to your Surround Sound System. If you dont have an Optical Cable to your Cable Box, then try using the usual audio cables. But, I have HD and it worked with the Optical Audio Cable.
