How to change brushes on a dc970

I don't think the motor is serviceable that way. At
DeWALT DC970 Parts List and Diagram eReplacementParts com you can find the motor and pinion for $35 plus shipping and then get the entire drill working again. Had the same problem with one of mine and it was an easy fix.

I need a circuit diagram so that i can see how to change the brushes for a bosch Gsb 20-2re drill . Would you please email to me?

I am trying to get you what you need here. The pdf file is about the best your going to get. At least you can enlarge the figure once you download the file.

The parts diagram:
http://www.ereplacementparts.com/images/fein/GSB20-2RE_(0601194703).pdf

The brushes just drop in.. unless the holder is also bad.

Parts list with prices and availability:

1/2 inch makita drill , model # 6013BR . Problem ;;;; great deal of arcing and smoke from vicinity of brushes. Would like to attempt my own repairs but am unable to remove the motor because I can't figure...

Take digital pictures as you go. Get a parts list if you can as well.
There are some electronics cleaners special for sensitive electronics and motors.
Compressed dry air may help as well.
Most drills housings will require a long round shank tool. These tools are in the forms of philips or torx some even security torx depending on the Mfg.

Hello, I have a dewalt drill cordless 12V. I have taken the casing off and want to know how I want to know how I get to the brushes. It has stopped working and suspect that it is the brushes. I am not...

I fix cordless DeWalt drills every week!Look for two black carbon-like blocks found on either side of the commutator ( the central spindle ) they will each have one wire on the outside end attached to a spade connector so the brush can be easily removed by prying it out from beneath the spring holding the brush against the commutator.  Then the wire can be removed and the new brush installed.    Go online to http://www.toolpartsdirect.com and search for your model dewalt drill. they have an exploded diagram and parts listing for each model drill.  That will identify the brush for you if you have never seen one before.    If the drill was operating intermittently with lots of noise and usually blue sparks coming out, loss of power, increasing intermittant operation it would almost certainly benefit from replacing the brushes.   If it is simply dead, and was ever dropped.  check the battery terminals and the trigger mechanism.  Of course inspect the battery and check inside the drill for loose or broken wires and connections. I hope this is helpful. Good luck!
