What application are you using for e-mail? What is your operating system (please include service pack version if applicable)? How much memory is installed?

Open Task Manager (right-click on the taskbar), click "Show Processes for All Users", then sort the list of processes by CPU speed (click on the column heading to sort by it. click again to reverse-sort).

That should give you an idea of which program is taking so much CPU.

You should also look at the computer's memory usage (again, in Task Manager). If you're out of free RAM, then the computer will start "swapping" to the hard disk which can make a computer very sluggish.

Problem with HP envy m6 laptop. Keyboard lags, or skips letters when im typing an email or web document.

tip

How we increase our keyboard typing speed

First of all
you should know about that how we keep our figure on keyboard you can see there is key (F) and key (J) is little different from all keyboard you can feel some emboss dot on this key then you keep your all finger on keyboard like from right side ;LKJ ( on key J) you will feel the emboss dot then you start from lift side asdf (on key F) you will feel emboss dot then this the correct method of keyboard typing
Start your ms word then the fonts size which you feel better the follow this method i hope in 5 days you will feel the difference but you should practice it daily 30 mints only
This is the method
first keep all the finger the method which i mentioned above
now start from right hand like this
;lkj;lkj;lkj;lk;lkj;lkj;lkj;lkj then when you remember these key then start from your left side like this asdf asdf asdf asdf asdf then when you remember these keys apply all this method on all keyboard in one week you will remember the key then you can type without see the keyboard and one month you will see your speed 50 words per mint
Thanks

When I type letters or numbers on my Gateway KR-0532 wireless keyboard, each stroke of the keys causes 'skipping,' (while typing a word, for examle, if I type at a regular speed, the words will be missing...

have you tried replacing the batteries in your Wireless keyboard? it could be that simple as the wireless may be dieing if there is not enough power to send the information of what your typing.. Try this before you change your configurations in Windows.

Hope this helps,

While typing in aim my laptop keyboard skips letters, randomly selects a new im, or underlines words.

Tape a double piece of paper directly over the touchpad.
(If you don't use it). It worked for me. Now I don't have to worry about accidently hitting it and making my typing skip or delete text by mistake.

ACER laptop keyboard skips when typing on Internet email (Hotmail or Yahoo), seems to be fine on Word?

Your browser is lagging behind. You may be low on RAM. This happens often when you have multiple tabs/windows open. Some browsers require more resources than others, I'm not sure how they compare.

It could also be low bandwidth; either you have a poor connection or are downloading a lot (via frostwire or utorrent or something) or uploading.

If you're running 768+ MB of RAM on Windows XP, you're fine. That's unlikely to be the cause.

If you're running 1.5+ GB of RAM on Windows Vista/7, you're fine.

Due to how IRQs are processed, the fact that it works fine in word but not via the internet suggests your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc) is the problem. Try installing the latest version of whatever browser you use. If this doesn't work, try installing an older version. lol.
