What is the network secuirty key for my belkin 54g wireless router? Help!

1. network security is setup by the user
You either have it or you will need to go through the set and establish a new network security key again via the CD that came with the router device.

I cant find my security string

Ok here is your solution.
  1. let me know your Windows operating system
  2. check your Security type setting in your router
  3. channel and SSID sharing
  4. disable Firewall in router
Check your windows firewall and some anti virus who cant also block your signal.Go to setup page Belkin using 192.168.2.1

If you cant open it just reset router,go in the back of your router and locate the reset ping.
if you still cant do it just check your physical connection and go to command prompt using RUN and type CMD after ping router 192.168.2.1 and you will get a four answer and zero lose.
if you still cant do it ask me for a remote setup in your pc .

If you are able to open Belkin setup page using 192.168.2.1
Check all configurations and be sure you can setup it to wep64 bit security mode and your problem will be solved.

Hi i have been trying to set a password for my belkin router but cannot log on line to the ip address

The address fro your Belkin 54G wireless router setup should be: http://192.168.2.1/
I would bypass the WiFi link/security and connect your PC/Laptop to be used for configuring the router via the Ethernet cable connection plug in Port 1 of the router.
If you do not have the password, you will need to reset the router to 'factory default' by using a small reset button on the back: you need a pen to push it down. Hold it down for about 10 seconds and it will put the router to factory default settings.
You will then need to reconfigure the router using the Belkins setup CD that came with the router (or download it before hand from Belkins support site): this will normally set it up automatically for you.
Hope it helps!

How do i secure my belkin 54g router? we only want people who are in the house to access it

Go to the setup page for the router (IP 192.168.1.1) and set up the WPA-PSK [TKIP] security. It will allow fairly simple setup, and only provide the pass code to house members.

How do I put security on my Belkin 54g router

You set your security by enabling WEP.

When you get in the interface to configure WEP, set a pass phrase. Write down the 3 numeric keys it generates. Then connect to the wireless using your laptop, etc. When it asks for your passkey, do not enter the pass-phrase; enter one of the three keys that were generated by the router. That's the biggest mistake people make when trying to get wireless to work.

Belkin 54g Wireless connection problem.

This is more of an explanation then a solution, but to best explain what to do I have to first explain why this is happening. When you add security to a wireless router or ap you add extra envelopes to the packets of info being transferred, adding encryption to that makes it much slower because the ap has to encode all packets coming to you and un-encode all packets being sent to the Internet. In our time this happens very quickly, but in computer time I just described a lifetime. In addition if your signal is not 100% you might have packet loss "more slow down". Now the answer, in your ap setup pages you can setup wireless security, set this to Mac address authenication and add the mac addresses of all the network cards that have access to this ap. This is by far the fastest methiod of secure data transfer.

Hope this was some help...
