How to replace the ink cartridges on a Dell All-In-One 948 Inkjet Printer
1. Turn the printer on.
2. Lift the printer unit.
3. The ink cartridge carrier moves and will stops at the loading point unless the printer is busy.
4. Press down on the ink cartridge lever to raise each ink cartridge lid.
5. Remove the old ink cartridges from the printer.
6. If you are installing new ink cartridges, then remove the sticker and transparent tape from the back and bottom of each ink cartridge.
Note: If you are wanting to print photos you will want to install a photo cartridge along with the color cartridge. Also if you are switching between the photo and black cartridge but they still have ink in them be sure to store then in an air tight container so they do not dry out.
7. Insert the new ink cartridges. Making sure that the black or photo ink cartridge is secure in the left ink cartridge carrier and the color ink cartridge is secure in the right ink cartridge carrier.
Make sure you install the correct type of KODAK Ink Cartridge for your printer. Currently we offer two types of ink cartridges (10 Series and 30 Series). Installing the wrong type of ink cartridge may result in this error. You will need to install a new, correct type of KODAK Ink Cartridge. NOTE: For more information, see Which ink cartridges to buy for all-in-one printer.
If you are using the correct type of KODAK Ink Cartridge, reinstall the color ink cartridge.
Wait until the printhead is idle and silent, then pinch the latch on the color ink cartridge with your thumb and forefinger and lift it out of the printhead.
Install the color ink cartridge back into the printer, making sure to press down on the thumb tab until it clicks into place.

If the error continues, restart your printer:
Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
Wait five seconds.
Turn on the printer.
If the error continues, and you have extra, new KODAK Ink Cartridges on-hand, try to install a new ink cartridge (or a set of new ink cartridges).
It states: " Ink cartridge problem Cause The indicated ink cartridge(s) are missing or are damaged. Solution Replace the indicated ink cartridge(s) immediately so that you can resume printing. If there are no ink cartridges missing from the HP All-in-One, the ink cartridge contacts might need to be cleaned. If there are no ink cartridges missing from the HP All-in-One, and you still receive this message after cleaning the ink cartridge contacts, you might have a damaged ink cartridge. Replacing Ink Cartridges
1.
Turn on your printer.

Press down on the ink cartridge lever to raise each ink cartridge lid.
5.
Remove the old ink cartridges.
6.
Store the cartridges in an air-tight container, such as the storage unit you received with your photo cartridge, or dispose of them.
7.
If you are installing new ink cartridges, remove the sticker and transparent tape from the back and bottom of each ink cartridge.
8.
Insert the new ink cartridges. Make sure the black or photo ink cartridge is secure in the left ink cartridge carrier and the color ink cartridge is secure in the right ink cartridge carrier.
9.
Snap each lid closed.
10.
Close the printer unit.
11.
An alignment page automatically prints.
