I have laptop dell studio, in this laptop the cd drive combartment won't coming out, so we have to insert only,like this type of laptops how can i use small size cd's, there is any adopter type cd's are available for this. In our PKP friends circle any body face the same problem please share it here.

Open "COMPUTER" hold cursor over the Device CD/DVD right click scroll down to "EJECT" and click.

First reinstall the DVD driver to see if the DVD drive works.
If not then -
Try removing the DVD drive and inserting it back to make sure it properly connected then boot up the laptop and go into the BIOS and see it the DVD drive is detected, if the DVD drive is not detected then the DVD drive is faulty and needs to be replaced.

if you look just below the cd drive there should be a little pin hole
insert something into to it and hold it there for a few seconds
the drive should then realease the cd

hi there, is your DVD rom combo type? if not! they cannot read a regular CD only DVD. if yes! i suggest try other audio player. you can search free download on Google. thanks

You can uses the button on the CD drive to eject the CD. If that doesn't work you can also right click the CD drive icon from "My Computer" and select "eject".

this happens while on windows right? so try outside windows. what i mean is restart computer then keep tapping on f2 to boot in bios setup. then from there insert the cd/dvd check still has the problem. if yes they follow these steps http://tinyurl.com/ya7q9b

still not fix try to loosen the screws from the bottom part of the laptop. if still fails then have dvd drive replaced.

There are small plastic drive gears that respond to the drivebelt. These gears are very fragile and may have come out of syncronization.

1. clean your cd, then put
2. clean your cd/dvd head
3. scratch cd/dvd shows this type of message

Supposing that the Studio 15 / 17 has a slot loading drive:

You can either press the eject button above the keyboard (the touch sensitive one)

or

Go to 'Computer' in Vista and right click the CD/DVD drive. Then click 'Eject'.

This should work.
