Onkyo TX-DS474 Receiver Logo

I am using an Onkyo TX-8255 receiver with the ION Profile Pro USB Turntable and I'm hearing distortion through my speakers at all volumes. The speakers and the receiver work fine with the radio and the turntable has no problems when connected to my friend's receiver. So there seems to be a problem with the connection between the turntable and the receiver. Any ideas?

The TT should be connected properly for the way it's configured (Line Level Out to any Line Level In OR Phono Out to Phono In) and NOT any other way.

Speaker volume is too low in my turntable setup. How can I fix it?

remove rca plugs from speaker wires and wire the speakers to speaker connections on the back of receiver. The receiver may already have a phono input for a turntable.

How can I stream wireless through onkyo tx-8255 receiver

The Onkyo TX-8255 does not support any internet or Bluetooth access directly. You may be able to use the Onkyo remote interactive (RI) dock, DS-A5, to get the wireless streaming, if you can find one on E-bay or a similar resale site. See https://www.onkyousa.com/Products/model.php?m=DS-A5&class=Accessory . Onkyo has discontinued manufacturing these docks. The dock connects to the receiver via an audio cable. The features and manual for the Onkyo TX-8255 are available at the product page on Crutchfield, https://www.crutchfield.com/S-Q75dK8s0iLY/p_580TX8255/Onkyo-TX-8255.html . The current link to the manual is https://pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20080824133600/Manuals/580/580TX8255.PDF .

Unfortunately, if you can't find one of these docks, you'll need to connect use an audio cable between the TX-8255 and any dock for some gadgets or a direct connection for other internet connected devices. I wish that I had better news for you. Cindy Wells

I have an onkyo tx-8255 receiver and i bought a psw-505 polk audio subwoofer to supplement my Boston acoustics cs-26 bookshelf speakers but i cannot get more than the deepest of bass to emit from the sub. ...

The problem is you are dealing with two different brands of speakers, I know because I ran into the same issues you are facing now, I had a Bose sub matched up with two Radio Shack Satellites and sound was not balanced it was awful. Finally I broke down and bought a pair of Bose Satellites and I have never regretted it since. The point I'am making is that when you mix brands the sound will be unpredictable, the problem with most subs is they have a very low roll off frequency even without the crossover making almost impossible to match speakers.

I have an onkyo TX-SV515 PRO receiver and the remote speakers will not turn on. The main speakers work fine but when I depress the button to turn on the remote speakers they do not switch on.

I had the same problem. You must turn on the remote speakers via the reciever and then adjust the remote speaker volume control that is only located on the remote control. The volume buttons are on the top right of the remote. It is briefly discussed in the owners manual which can be downloaded online.<!-- from fixya rte -->

Onkyo TX-SR706; Turntable output only from one speaker

Try some troubleshooting to check whether its the turntable or the the receiver.

What happens if you exchange the output cables of the turntable from left to right. Does the problem shift?
Does the sound changes from left to right speaker?

Similarly try on the inputs of the Receiver.. does the problem shift...?
This way you will be able to isolate the problem, whether with the receiver or the turntable....

Let me know, we can trouble shoot it further....
