My Samsung YP-S2 Mp3 player can't be recognised by computers when I plug it in through the usb input (it used to work), therefore I'm not able to upload music on it anymore. How can I fix this bug?

Samsung Player Is No Longer Detected By Windows XP, Vista, Emodio Or
Samsung Media Studio.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When your computer doesn't recognize your Samsung MP3 player, programs
such as Samsung Media Studio (SMS), Emodio, Windows Media Player
(10 or 11) do not allow you to transfer files to your player.
In SMS and Emodio, the portable icon appears grayed out.
In Windows Media Player, you are prompted to connect a device.
Your PC may fail to recognize your player for a variety of reasons.
To begin troubleshooting, scroll down, and then click the operating
system your computer is currently running.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Operating System Information
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Windows computers, Samsung MP3 players require at least Windows XP
Service Pack 2. If you have an older operating system such as Windows
2000 or Windows 98, your computer won't recognize your player until you
upgrade your PC to at least Windows XP Service Pack 2.
If your PC is running Linux or MAC, it will not recognize some MP3
players that support only MTP mode. However, it will recognize players
that support UMS mode and list them as mass storage devices.
The following Samsung MP3 players support UMS: YP-U1, YP-U2, YP-U3,
YP-U4, YP-U5, and YP-S2.
The following Samsung MP3 players support both MTP and UMS mode: YP-Z5
and YP-P3.
Windows Vista may fail to detect you device if the player is not
connected properly, Windows Media Player is not installed or has become
corrupted, Vista is unable to install the MTP drivers, or the MTP patch
is not installed.
You can check it out further by going to this website and entering the information about your player

Why when i plug the MP3 player (YP-T10) into the computer, the computer says 'One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognise it'?

Here are a few things you can try:
1) Plug it in to other USB ports of your PC/laptop. The port might be faulty. 2) Replace the USB cable 3) Download the latest driver from Samsung's website here:
http://www.samsung.com/my/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP01&prd_mdl_cd=YP-T10AB/XME&srchword=YP-T10

Reformat the mp3 player yp-s2

While connected to the PC, go to my computer. Right Click on the USB Audio device (mp3 player) and choose Format. It will now format your player. Just make sure to back up your files first as to formatting will restore your player to default settings and will wipe out the memory.

My computer does not recognise my Samsung YP-U3 MP3 player. The MP3 works, except that now it has no more battery, but sinc yesterday suddenly, my computer does not recognise it and wont recharge it....

Try another USB port, apart from the one you used before, but before doing that, try this nice trick, put on either your Windows Media Player first, or If you have An Apple RealPlayer Application, put it on,...those two applications helps in the detection of Portable devices.

Samsung YP-U3 not recognised. This device cannot start. (Code 10)

  1. Connect the USB cable to your computer.
  2. Press and hold the menu[0].jpg button while plugging the other end of the USB cable into the YP-Z5.
  3. When the display shows USB Connected, release the menu[0].jpg button.
  4. The device is now in USB mode.
  5. When through, you must safely remove the USB device. Note: To safely remove the USB device, right click the USB icon ( usb_icon.jpg ) in the bottom right of your screen, and then click Safely Remove Hardware.
  1. Upon disconnecting the device, it will return to MTP Mode.

Doesnt start up

Hi. My Inovix mp3/4 player suffered a similar fate when it crashed during a Firmware reload. The player went completely dead and wasn't even recognised by the computer when plugged into the USB port. I basically kept on trying - a couple of times whenever I used the computer - using different ports. 2 days later - 'ding-dong' - Windows XP suddenly recognised something was in the port, and I tentatively attempted a Firmware reload. Success! (Don't ask me to explain it tho'...)

I can't connect my samsung yp-z5 to the computer!!!

Try installing the Samsung Media package supplied with the player. Then restart your PC - all programs should then recognise the YP-Z5
