This should work:

How to reset the operation time meter
Plug in the power cord, switch on the projector, and
reset lamp time by pressing the (left and right arrow) and POWER buttons on the control panel simultaneously.
Important:
• If the 3 buttons was not pressed at the same time,
the lamp time may not be reset.
• Please confirm the TEMP indicator illuminates
about 2 seconds and the lamp time has been
reset.
• The projector will not turn on if you do not secure
the lamp lid.
• You must reset the operation time meter after you
replace the lamp.
• Do not reset the operation time meter unless the
lamp has been replaced.

It turns on but there is no light. Has the lamp burned? The lamp has not been used for over 2,000 hours...

If it has done over 1000 hours it has done well.
If the projector is ceiling mounted, the air is very hot up there and the lamp life will be greatly reduced. Is the lamp life indicator flashing?
Hope that helps.

Hi, My hc1500 Is having a problem. When I turn it on it makes a clicking sound. Then the Lamp fails to light. The Light is green and the status is green, but soon after the projector shuts off the power...

The clicking sound is the high voltage power supply trying to
ignite the gas in the lamp. The lamp is not firing and coming on.
Check the bulb/ lamp life. Possible the lamp has exceeded its
useful life and may need to be replaced.

Mitsubishi HC900 Projector shuts down after 5 minutes.

You have 1 of 2 possible problems.

(1) You need a new lamp.

(2) You have an overheating problem.

Just a quick couple of notes about your projector. It is a DLP projector (not LCD) and as such the machine as no air filters to clean. It does have air intake and air exhaust grilles, but no air filters to clean. This next part comes directly from the owner' manual for your projector:

When the lamp operation time exceeds 2000 hours*1 *2, the projector automatically shuts off and can’t be used until the lamp is replaced and the lamp operation time is reset.

Your machine is designed to give visual warning messages at 1500 hours used, and 1900 hours used. Did you see any visual warning about lamp life over the past few months?

If you were experiencing an overheating problem, a "TEMPERATURE!!" message would flash up on the screen just before the unit shuts down. If there is no warning, you don't have a heat problem.

If you have a replacement lamp available, install it and reset the lmap hours according to your user manual. If you don't have the manual, google it on the web (it available).
