Not sure what e200 tool you are referring to.

But this is the one provided by SanDisk;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

http://rapidshare.com/files/67740173/e200fw01.00.12.exe____

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.

SOURCE: sansa e250 keeps saying "SYNCHRONIZE TO CONTINUE YOUR MUSIC SUBSCRIPTION"

Here's the deal with WMA files - once your subscription expires (or really,  the license on the WMA file expires) - you will have to renew your music service subscription or the song will no longer play on your device.
Use Mp3 format songs - they'll never give you this problem.

When you format it, it deletes everything on the player. You'll just have to put everything back on it.

Screen shows white snow and parallel color lines only

Good show! Reformatting doesn't usually solve a problem like that, since it is usually hardware-related. But, good to know!

Sansa e250

That means you will need to transfer one track to your device from rhapsody..the songs you have from rhapsody has a license in them...the licenses get renew every month..that means if you discontinue your service, you are not going to be able to play those songs...just try to transfer one track from rhapsody to your device and that will solve your problems...

Sansa e250 firmware problem

Verify that the device DOES NOT say RHAPSODY on the back or E2**R. This would indicate the rhapsody version, whereas the firmware is totally different.

If it is simply a E200, try this;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

http://rapidshare.com/files/67740173/e200fw01.00.12.exe____

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

New player, says I ran out of space

If you formatted it thru Windows Media Player, or Rhapsody, it didnt really format properly. Make sure the device is in Rhapsody Mode. Settings>Mode or USB Mode>Rhapsody. On your computer go to Disk Management. Right Click on My Computer and select Manage. On the next window select Disk Management, under Storage. On the right side at the top of the window you will see the device listed (i.e. Sansa e250r). Right click on the device and select format. Dont select any other options, just hit Start. Your device is now formatted properly. Best of Luck.

I had this problem too and tried all kinds suggested solutions. The main problem was that no computer would recognize the e250 in MTP mode--which is what you need to transfer songs with DRMs from Rhapsody or similar services. The latest firmware fixed the problem.
I gave up on the whole thing about about a year ago. What a waste of precious time that could have been spent in nerdy musical bliss.
