You MUST replace the plate!!! Do not use any damaged plates in the machine.

You can order the plates and a new cord from the company. Vollara (new name for EcoQuest) customer service is 800-989-2299. Use #16618 if you need a referral number.

Although the company is no longer selling or servicing the Breeze, the plates and cord are standard components which are also used in other products still manufactured by the company.

Hope this helps.

How long do Ecoquest purifier plates last?

The "Replace Plate" message comes on for more than just the plate. Is the fan still running when it displays (Replace Plate"? The squeaking noise would be coming from the fan. I don't know what all it works for. It does display when the plate contacts are dirty, when a wire to the plates is loose or corroded, when the bulb is bad or loose and when the ozone generator quits. I have encountered all of those. Plates should last a couple of years, depending what's going on in the indoor environment. Before you go any farther, call (336) 499-2505 - they give away information and will help you solve your specific problem.

My unit is going off and coming right back on intermittently while running.

Something is probably loose either inside or in a connection somewhere. Make sure the plug is FIRMLY inserted in the back of the machine. Look inside and make sure that the plate is inserted correctly (in both top and bottom "tracks"). Make sure the metal contact "fingers" are pressing firmly against both sides of the plate. Make sure there are no wires that have pulled loose or corroded out. Also, make sure the machine is not plugged into an outlet which is on a line with a heavy appliance or furnace that draws a lot of power. If none of this helps, contact the company (now called Vollara) at 800-989-2299. You can use 16618 as your dealer referral number if you're no longer in contact with the original dealer.

After i cleaned the purifier it would not start up. made a noise like it was going to start but does not.

Something probably has not been replaced correctly.
Unplug the machine.
I. Check the plate and RCI (UV honeycomb) cell.
A. Make sure the top and bottom of the plate are in the little "tracks" at the top and bottom.
B. Make sure the plate is inserted firmly but not pushed in too hard. Same with the UV cell. It needs to be turned into each end until you feel it "click" or seat.
C. Look at all wires and make sure none are visibly loose or corroded or broken.
D. Make sure the plug at the back of the machine is inserted very firmly.
II. Check the fan. It has sealed bearings, which means it doesn't need oiling. However, it may be stuck for some reason. When the machine is unplugged, reach through with something and try twirling the fan.
III. If none of these troubleshooting steps work, call Vollara (new name of EcoQuest) customer service 1-800-989-2299 and use 16618 as your dealer referral number. They'll give you repair options.

My airfresh 2.1 doesn't start at all - ist there a trick to start it?

Check all connections. Start with the cord inserted FIRMLY into the back. Also make sure the wall outlet is live. (I know, that sounds rather silly, but you'd be surprised how often this is the problem!)
If it still doesn't start, unplug the machine. Remove the back protective shield, remove the lint screen, and look inside. Make sure the 4" white plate is inserted correctly, with the top and bottom in the "track" or groove. Make sure the "honeycomb" cell is firmly inserted.
Look for any obviously loose, broken, frayed, or corroded wires.
If everything looks fine, reassemble the machine. Make sure the lint screen depresses the interior safety lever (if your model has that feature). Before plugging it in, remove the fuse and make sure it hasn't blown. If it has, replace it with one of EXACTLY the same size, available at an auto parts store.
Try powering on with the remote, and also manually. Sometimes only one method will work.
If none of these troubleshooting ideas work, you'll need to call the company (Vollara, new name for EcoQuest) 1-800-989-2299. Ask for repairs. You may use #16619 if you are not in touch with the registered distributor who sold you the machine. They'll tell you your options.

My freshair 2.0 turns on and right back off. the screen lights up and then goes out.

The most common reason for surging or changing power levels is a loose connection somewhere.

1) Make sure the plug in the back is inserted firmly and the wall socket is live. The wall socket should not be powering a high-use appliance such as a furnace or refrigerator.
2) Make sure the plate is inserted firmly and correctly in the top and bottom "tracks" inside the machine. The metal contact fingers should be pressing firmly and evenly on both sides of the plate, in the metal screen area.
3) Inspect the interior of the machine, looking for loose wires, corroded clips, any broken wires or connections. (You or a handy friend may be able to repair the loose wires or clips; it's a pretty basic fix.)
If none of these troubleshooting steps solve the problem, the problem may be in the computerized system. For that, you'll need to get in touch with Vollara (formerly EcoQuest) customer service. 800-989-2299.

I cleaned my io breeze quadra plates with rubbing alcohol reinserted and turned it on, it made some crackling noises and started emmiting a burning smell like a hot transformer pulled insert plates found...

You will need to take unit apart to check both the and bottom. Start either at top or bottom go over the circuit path of hi voltage grid wire check for more burn marks. Insure hi voltage insulated wire coming from transformer is not broken. This will be located at bottom of unit you will have to take top pc board off and control transformer to get to hi voltage transformer, then when that is removed you will see the hi voltage connector I was talking about. That wire is soldered on and is a very delicate connection. Make sure wiring soldered. Hi voltage transformer should be ok if you did not leave unit on for a long time while you had your loose connection in the grid wire.

How far in do the plates go and are they supposed to make a noise?

They should go as far so the back edge of the plates touch the back stop and the the metal clip on each side of the plate is touching the metal screen on the plate.

As far as noise, depending on the purification setting, they can make a hissing sound. If you see arcing or sparking, or hear any other noise other than a hissing sound, then it is time to replace the plates.
Hope this helps.

BULB AND LAMP

I can give you some possibilities. A loose connection, a broken or corroded wire and/or terminal end, dust or moisture on a circuit board, the plate needs cleaning, the contacts for the plate need cleaning, the bulb ballast needs to be replaced, the bulb may not be properly installed, the support posts for the plate need cleaning. These are all I can think of at the moment.

"Replace plate" messge appears. I replaced it but the message remains!

Regarding "Replace Card" warning, 90% of the time it's the female metal connector on the red wire going to the spring metal connection screws... The connector can have a buildup of corrosion ( green) build inside of the crimped connection. In that case, the crimped connector will need to be replaced. The black wire may also suffer from corrosion, but to a lessor extent. The replacement crimps need to be stainless steel crimps. The copper crimps corrode easily. Another thing to look out for are loose connections. The final solution would be to replace the card, or see your friendly dealer.
