Re: Honeywell 220a 1019 whole house humidifier. We installed the Honeywell humidifier a year ago & it works great. We replaced our furnace 3 mo. ago, and I'm now wiring the electrical for the humidifier. Do I want the low a.c. voltage transformer to be on all the time, thereby controlled only by the humidistat on the plentum, or do I want the transformer to come on & off with the furnace. My new furnace is a 95% Goodman, and the d.c. fan is programmed to stay on (low) all the time to keep the air circulating. Right now I have the low a.c. output transformer on all the time, and it seems to be working just fine. Also, where do I likely want the humidity percentage set at (Minneapolis, 71 degrees, forced air)? Your help is appreciated! Mike

SOURCE: Humidistat installation question

I suppose you are looking at the do-it-yourself model. Depending on the wire that is run up to you Regular Thermostat from your furnace. You may have to run a seperate line for the Humidistat. A digital thermostat that does Humidity and Temperature is recommended. Or you could just place a Humidistat near the furnace room. A wiring diagram will come with the Humidifier discribing the different ways to wire it.

SOURCE: Wiring issue with the Honeywell HE360A Humidifier

Maybe I can help. this is 24v so it doestn't matter which wire goes where so here goes. 2 wires from humidistat go to furnace, split one of the wires(not both) so they reach the yellow wires on the humidifier. with marettsconnect one of the split wires to one of the yellow wires. do the same to the other split wire and yellow wire. what you should get is one wire from humidistat to furnace then one wire from humidifier to humidistat and one from humidifier to furnace. hope this helps

SOURCE: I've installed a Honeywell 220A whole house

push sail switch forward by hand to see if that is the problem.
Remove two wires at humidifier and connect them if it starts than it is in wiring, humidistat, or transformer.

I have a HE220, HE 260 humidifier..by pass, flow thru. There is no water flow between the hot water tank and the humidifer. The water valve is on. Is there an inexpensive part I can replace myself first before calling a plumbing contractor?

I have a Honeywell humidfier HE 220A with a KIP U147112 valve. Will turning the large screw head on the valve decrease the volume of water flow through the humidifier. Too much water is being wasted.

Honeywell 22a worked fine last year this year will not turn on.

Check solenoid 24V. You should here a "click" when you turn on the unit when furnace is running. These things clog up with chemicals.

Honeywell HE260 leaks somewhere

Neither, even if the solenoid or humidistat stick, it should always drain properly. Is the unit mounted on the cold air return duct or the supply plenum? If it's mounted on the supply plenum, the water panel might be getting blown forward and spilling the water. High efficient furnaces also can leak water on the floor if its drain is restricted. If hum. is mounted on return duct make sure drain is clear by blowing through it. On Honeywell hum's I've seen the rubber hose from the solenoid valve to the distributor tray leak too, check the rubber 1/4" hose.

Honeywell HE260 housing melted/deformed

Humidifiers are made from a very durable heat resistant plastic. If it melted or warped you have a serious overheating problem. That plenum should not get over 140 to 155 degrees. If this furnace is running to hot it could stress and crack your heat exchanger. Install a good carbon monoxide detector in your home!!!! Check your filters. Check your airflow. Make sure all registers in the house are open. Is your blower speed set high enough? If this furnace is operating to hot it is definitely worth the investment to have a pro look at it before you replace the humidifier.
Is this overheating problem new? Or was this something thar happened years ago and may have since been solved But you are just now noticing the heat damege that was caused.

High Calcium in Water

Hi, Hot will make the problem worse. If your calcium is that high you will have scale in your tubs, sinks and toilets. Calcium is a pipe clogger and if you have noticed this type of scaling you may be wise to consider a whole house water filtration system, it will save you lots of problems in the long run. Good Luck!

Honeywell HE225 Humidifier will not draw water

Check for 24volts at the valve. Some techs install these so it only comes on when the furnace calls for heat. It should have its own transformer.

This may not be a solution, but a couple things you might want to look at. First, the humidifier may not be big enough for your house - just because a contractor installed it doesn't mean he sized it right. Second, humidity may only be 30% locally by the humidistat, but higher in other parts of the house - it depends where the humidistat is located. Finally, look at your hot water line - I'm surprised he ran it off hot water and not cold - seems like a waste of energy to me, but the feed line may be clogged by sediment from the water heater
