Ip address fails test connection

you need to set your 360's network to automatically detect your settings if you have other devices hooked up to the airport and they work it is not the Airport.

When it says IP address failed it has nothing to do with comcast it is your LAN having issues not your WAN

Ip address failed

In order to connect your XBOX 360 to your laptop (if the laptop is connected via dial-up), you'll need a cross-over ethernet cable. It's a special type of ethernet cable, which is typically the same price as a regular ethernet cable, but it allows two devices (in your case) to communicate with each other. Then, you'll need to configure your laptop to allow incoming connections via your Control Panel -> Internet Connections preferences.

Hope this help!

My wireless adapter lights up green but does not connect live

i had to change my ip address and so forth from manual to automatic because all the xbox needed to do was find everything by itself so that it could actually connect to my wireless network.

Ip address failed

I think you need to ring your internet provider and they will enable xbox live from their side. Its fairly simple and they will know what your talking about.

Xbox 360 setup

it way be that your modem and/or router does not recognize the ethernet cord. the contacts on either the cord or port might be fried. try plugging the xbox cord into the laptop port if the laptop is hooked up by cord or try using a wireless adapter for your xbox if the wireless seems to work fine with your laptop.

Ip address for xbox live

ok, firstly i hate these problems.
first things first, switch your hub off (leave for 2 mins) switch back on, this may refresh the ip address, also switch your xbox off.. then try agian.
Get back to me and let me know what happens from here.

oh also are you connecting your xbox to the pc? or directly to your broadband hub? if you can connect it directly to your hub, this should solve any problems

Connect it to your router with an ethernet cable.
Make sure the router is setup correctly to your modem, if you can connect all your devices by ethernet cable to the internet then it's set.
If you are using a wireless connection and if it asks for the WEP or WPA key, make sure that you are entering the correct encryption key. You may want to call your router manufacturer to know the correct key for the wireless connection. FYI, it will say that the wireless network is connected but it will still fail the IP Address.

If you have a wired connection and the IP Address or DNS failed, I suggest you to call your Internet Service Provider to check for the Internet connection and obtain these (static IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, primary DNS server and secondary DNS server). If your Internet is okay, enter the IP settings manually on the console (System > Network Settings > Edit Settings > IP settings).

That should work.
