Furnace does not put out much heat. Heat coming from registers is not hot.It throws out just l warm air. The furnace runs for 7-8 min. shouts off for 7-8 mins. The house never feels warm. The furnace is only 2yrs. old. We are very dissatisfied with it. Our 15yr. old furnace gave us more heat. Our home is just a little over 1200 sq. ft. and 1 story. Can the flame be adjusted. The fan is on medium.

SOURCE: gas grill overheated

I might have an Idea to what happened. All grills have a drip pan, most all new grills have a drain for grease that falls from our savory meats. Well, if, (not saying that you haven't) but if, you have not cleaned the drip pan, there is still grease left over that gets absorbed by food droppings. IF this is the case, you had a ticking time bomb of a grease fire. The grill did not overheat, the grease caught fire. You said your grill was a year old; so the regulator did not go full blast and when they do go bad they do not let gas pass through.

Not trying to preach to no one because I have done it myself, never leave your gas grill on and unattended. I hate to say it but even the owners manual says it.

I hope I did not come off the wrong way and I hope this might give you an idea/thought of what happened.

SOURCE: Ducane high efficiency propane furnace, pressure switch problem

A short cycle heat cycle indicat a pressure switch replacement was needed. This did not fix the problem. the problem was in PCV line since the end was filled with slugs and cause the line to backup with water. When this happen the system would stop asking for gas. the water would leak out and it would restart. The problem was fixed by cleaning value at end of PCV. This released the water, two quart of water, that was back up causing problem. Curious if a filter change indicator was providing a clue that was missed?

About once a week, I have to unplug the bottom end of the condensate tube on my high efficiency furnace and let the water out, then do a reset so the furnace will run. Why is this happening and how do I...

Condensate drain plug? New to me. Remove the plug and put a 5 gal. bucket to catch the water and remember to drain the bucket, so the furnace won't trip.
When hot plenum is not set hot enough, moisture will condensate on the heat exchanger. This moisture is acidic. It could be your hot plenum temperature needs to be raised to avoide frequent moisture problem.
By the same token, heating and air cooling removes moisture from the air and air needs moisture to feel warm or cool. Dry air is not desired.

Gas Furnace Model GMH 95070, installed May 09. Air flow from registers noisy. Installer reduced it one level -still noisy. Said it cound not be cut lower because it would get to hot due to slow air flow. I...

Seems to me, the problem is not with gas, it's with the size of the duct work. 4" diameter is way to small if the entire duct work system is only 4". The trunk line may have not been sized proper,y. so the volume of heat has now been translated into high pressure, which is why the registers are noisy.
Also 6" ducts coming off a larger trunk line to each register is the norm for 1000 sq ft home.
Also, are your registers in the floor or the ceiling? Ceiling registers historically are a little noisier than floor registers. Mainly because, they're overhead and closer to your ears. But, if they were up-sized to 6", the noise would decrease quite a bit.

Hope this helps.

Intake vent needed?

The blower motor is only going to pull a certain amount of CFM for circulation air. There is some restriction of air flow that is created when the return air system is ducted causing the air flow to "slow down" a bit. The air going into the furnace firebox is probably moving at a faster rate than if the return air was ducted. It will work and you will get the same amount of heat (energy) released but the faster moving air will make it feel cooler. Also the unit might be undersized(BTU output) for the size of the cabin and amount of airflow the blower is creating. Adding a extra filter(double) might slow down the air flow a bit to create more warmth(feel) coming from the registers. Also if the furnace and air intake is pulling air from outside(garage, closet, or under house) then the colder air from outside going into the system will decrease the heat from the furnace. It is better to have a closed system (return air inside cabin). You might want to try adding a extra filter to slow the air flow down some or use some sheetmetal and square it from the intake to try and concentrate the incoming air a little better and see if that improves the warmth coming from the furnace.

Furnace will run, put out heat, turn off and doesnt start again.

What is model # & serial # of this furnace, it may have a diagnosis led indicator light located on the control board, behind bottom door of furnace which will blink and tell you a fault code. Also check furnace filter, make sure its clean, check through out the house to see if all registers are open and not blocked by any objects, make sure cold air return grill is not blocked, the unit could be over heating and shutting off on high limit, good luck.

My heater will kick on right away but after 3-5mins it stops producing heat then a few mins later it will start heating again. Why?

The furnace could be shutting off on High Limit ...means your furnace is running too hot...check your filter and make sure return air vents are clean and clear....also it can be the Heat anticipator in your thermostat...which controls how many times your furnace cycles...basically your furnace should come on and off 5-6 times/hr ....need more info on your type of furnace and type of thermostat

I replaced my Janitrol 7 wire thermostat with an RTH7500 which now controls my heatpump system. The switches on the Janitrol were cool - off - heat - Em Heat. Does that mean I have auxiliary heat? There is...

There should be electric heat strips in the airhandler.

They automatically come on when the unit goes into defrost, the thermostat is turned up more than 7 degrees over the indoor temp or if the outdoor temp is just so cold the HP cannot keep up.

Tat is your auxillary or emergency heat.

What does the new t-stats installers booklet say that the 0170 function and #2 #7 options are for?

If it is for gas vs elec heat then set it on the elec option.

The difference is that in gas heat systems the blower comes on a few min AFTER the furnace fires up to allow the heat exchanger to get hot.
In an electric furnace the blower has to come on emediatly because the heat strips get hot emediatly and if the blower is delayed the system will shut of in high temp overload.
