SOURCE: discolored white nautica watch band

If your watch band have UV sensitive pigmentation in it, there is nothing you can do, but buy the new band.
Find your nearest jeweller and ask to clean watch band in ultrasonic cleaner for 1 hour. If this kind of cleaning doesn't help, that means your watch band is UV sensitive and is and will be discolouring more and more by the time.
Alternatively you can try to clean it with the lighter fluid (ZIPPO). Soak a soft cloth in to lighter fluid and clean the band. Start with a small area inside band to make sure the fluid is not reacting as dissolver, as some resins react quite vigorously and tend to transform into chewing gum sort of state.
And again- if this cleaning doesn't help, the band is UV sensitive and discolouring is taking place.
That discolouring is happening becouse some of the colour pigments used in resin manufacture are sensitive to ultraviolet light and when exposed to sunlight or daylight, they react in a chemical
way, changing molecular structure, wich we see as the colour change. This process can not be reversed and this is why the band can not be cleaned.

SOURCE: I have a calumet watch,

Polyurethane Band
Polyurethane Bands, which are made of soft plastic, may turn hard after 2-3 year's use. Colour fading can also be seen.
If bands are kept wet and in highly humid locations or are exposed to sunlight for a long time, the deterioration of the bands may be accelerated in a relatively short period and some cracks may appear on the band surface. (This is called 'hydrolytic cleavage of polyurethane')
Kindly pay attention to the condition of polyurethane bands, which are often worn in such occasions as marine sports/outdoor activities

  • We recommend immediate exchange when your polyurethane band loses elasticity or develops cracks.
  • Semi-transparent/white/fair coloured polyurethane band may turn a different colour due to light/stain ( or sometimes may absorb colours from other materials). In addition, polyurethane bands have many small holes on the surface, which easily catch and hold stains/other different colour material. Thus it is rather tough to entirely clean polyurethane bands. Kindly replace current polyurethane band with a new one when you find extreme discolouration.
  • There exist some sorts of stains (like oil/cosmetics), which cannot be removed off. Smoking cigarette/long time use may turn the colour yellowish.

CAUTION!
Do not use solvent/chemicals (benzene/thinner/breach) for band/bracelet cleaning!

How do I take out a couple links in the band of a 7056 White Peugeot watch. The pins are not spring loaded like most other watches. The band is plastic and there is only one pin per link. I don't know if...

Hi I just bought this watch for my wife's birthday and we had the same problem, it was too big. I googled and binged for a solution to shortening the band or to remove a link but no one had an answer. I go crazy with things like these and just decided to look at the watch band. First took out the pin for the latch so I can get a better look because that pin can be pressed down. On the inside of the band are arrows. Those arrows indicate which direction the pins can be pushed out. Just push the pin out with a tool, they will require a little pressure but they will give because one end of the pin is bigger than the other. Remove link and enjoy. Hope this helps someone else out there. Just a note this is only for the Peugot 7056 it has a white plastic band and I wouldn't recommend anyone try this with any other model as I don't know how those bands are designed.

Removing the back to change battery

The plastic wrist band doesn't have to be cut away. You need to dislodge the spring-loaded end of the pin from the hole in the plastic with the blade of a sharp thin knife.

The you proceed to lift one of the 4 snaps to open the cover. The battery is under a white translucent inside cover.

The original battery was Sony SR621SW.

Pay attention to the rubber seal ring when putting the watch back together.
