I have the Sony PS-LX300USB Turntable and it has been working just fine. I used it one morning then went to use it later that day and the speed was all warped. When I went to play it at 33rpm, it played at 45 rpm. When I pushed in the button for 45 rpm, it went even faster. I'm not sure how to fix this. Please let me know, as I want my player to work as soon as possible.

It could be that the belt has slipped out of place. You might even need a new belt!

Got distracted. I need a start up disc for a Sony turntable model PS-LX300USB.Disc was missing in original package.Tried calling customer service WOW!!

I assume you mean a software disc is missing.

Then all you need to do is use this site. It will be in warranty so they should be able to send it out. If you have not registered the device do so at the same time.

I just replaced the stylus on my sony PS-LX300USB turntable, but now there is a constant static on even my new records

You have either knocked the connections to the cartridge causing a loose connection, or not seated the stylus right. Or you have static build up, which can be caused by poor earthing.

hi,
Select the switch to line. Then connect the red and white RCA pins to the corresponding red and white sockets of MD/CD-R play input of Yamaha. Select the MD/CD-R by pressing the button on the remote. Then play the turntable.

Just received our Sony PS-LX300USB turntable, but cannot get the stylus to stay on. Any suggestions on how to install the stylus?

Hold the stylus at an angle, rear up/needle down. Put the rear of the stylus in first and then push the front of the stylus up and clip into place.

Which stylus number did you use?

I am assembling a sony turntable and don't understand step 3. Using the ribbon, loop the drive belt around the motor pulley. PS-LX300USB model Thanks

Manuals and belt instructions here:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=PSLX300USB&LOC=3

You would handle the belt by the ribbon instead of bare fingers so your finger oils wouldn't contaminate the belt. You stretch the loop of the belt over the drive pulley between the flanges to hook it.

Is there a mac os x driver available anywhere for the sony ps-lx300usb turntable?

You do not need a driver for mac... just plug the usb cable into your mac... go to sound settings in system preferences and set USB to default audio input device... then install audicity... it is free and open source... play your record and hit record in audicity. done.
