Hi there,
You can enable your wireless lan via quick launch button on the strip , when tapped it will show you blue light when disabled it will show you with orange light, if you see that light is still blue but you are unable to find any wireless network in network and sharing center
simply open network and sharing center > go to change adapter settings right click on wireless network connection and select enable ,
now your wireless should work,
Feel free to contact us if you require more assistance,
Regards, Bilal

The possibilities (in order of most likely):
1. There is a wireless button or on off switch somewhere on your
laptop. For HP, it's usually a button dead center above the keyboard
area, with a bright blue LED that's lit when the wireless is enabled.
Sometimes, it's a slide switch on the front left of the laptop. It's
there, somewhere.
2. Windows will allow you to enable or disable the wireless device.
Go unto:
Control Panel -> Network
Find the wireless device. *RIGHT* click and see if it says "enable"
or "disable" at the top of the list.
3 Many laptops come with "wireless managers" that take over running
the wireless and sometimes the ethernet devices. I have no clue what
comes with your unspecified model HP that might be a laptop. However,
if you do happen to have something other than Windoze Wireless Zero
Config running the wireless, check its settings for enable/disable.
4. The BIOS sometimes has a wireless enable or disable setting.

Win XP instaling problem on Hp probook 6550b

Hope you are using a fresh windows XP install of the entire system.
HP drivers will need to be obtained and installed before running. The error on the screen usually is a driver error and not a XP issue.

Where's the button to enable wireless on the HP ProBook 6450b

You probably don't have a switch. You need to use the wireless application you will find in the control panel or the Fn key-special function key combo that is made for the wireless.
Hold down the FN key and then look up at the special function keys and see which one has a picture of an antenna. That combo will turn the wireless on or off.

I have HP probook 6450b and I would like to disable the wireless button on laptop. I keep accidentally hit the button which then drops my wireless connection. Do you how this can be done?

The only way to disable it would be to disable all of the buttons. This can be done either by unplugging it from the mother board or disabling the device through device manager.
