I baught a new Sony EX715 TV with a Sony UWA-BR100 USB WLAN adapter to connect the TV to the internet. The connection fails with error code 2200. According to Sony it would be an issue with the router. The TV gets an IP address, seems to be connected to the router but has no connection to the internet. Any idea? Thanks Bernd

SOURCE: Belkin wireless G router not connecting PS3

The PS3 should find the SSID of the network, or you could enter it. And then enter the encryption key, be it WEP or WPA. Everything else should be automatic.

SOURCE: Belkin F5D8236-4 Wireless Router will not connect

1) With direct connect with modem, check the IP address and default gateway.
(I came across such a modem, it gave default gateway as 192.168.1.254)
I also had the doubt of configuring as a dynamic connection
But it won't work!
Contact your ISP to completely bridge the modem and configure the dsl modem as PPPoE connection with correct username and password.
Finally connect the modem to router and do a complete network power cycle, i.e.: Unplug power from router 1st, then power from modem, unplug the telephone line and now do the exact reverse process... Plug back the tel. cable, then power to modem... now WAIT for lights on modem to come back, then plug in the power to router. This will surely work.

How do i connect my laptop to sony bravia using UWA-BR100 ?

Connect the Laptop and TV with a *CROSSOVER* ethernet cable and then enable "Internet Connection Sharing" on the Laptop's "Wireless Network Connection".

To enable "Internet Connection Sharing", open the Network Connections folder ("Start > Run" type NCPA.CPL and click OK). Right click the Wireless Network Connection, select Properties and then the Advanced tab [XP] or Sharing tab [Vista]. Tick the box "Allow other network users to connect through through this computer's internet connection.

Just brought a Sony Bravia HX 800 and added a wireless LAN adapter (UWA-BR100) to get Internet TV. After network set up NOT able to access internet. Message reads Wireless device OK Local Access FAILED...

Hi

I got the Bravia KDL-40EX713 and the uwa-br100 I had massive problems getting it to work with a BT home hub. Eventually I found manual setting that work. Firstly I logged on to the router and went the the advanced settings bit, then I went to the DHCP table that shows all the devices connected. I picked an unused Ip address from the range of existing ones being used (this sort of thing 192.168.1.73)

I then used the following settings for the other fields (I don't think the secondary dns setting is right but it still works)

ip 192.168.1.73

sn mask 255.255.255.0

default gateway 192.168.1.254

primary dns 192.168.1.254

secondary dns 192.168.22.23

If the DNS server ip is wrong then you get local access OK but internet access failed.

Hope this helps.

Need UWA-BR100 drivers

Hello,

When I install de UWA-BR100 driver with the fix mentioned above it works but it does not show all wireless networks available. When I look at the hardware properties I see 802.11b Preamble and a mention of Adhoc 11n.

When I look at the properties of my other wireless adapter there is mention in the properties of: 802.11n 20 MHz, 802.11n, 802.11n modus, Adhoc Qos, Adhoc 802.11b/g. This adapter shows more available wireless networks then when I use the UWA-BR100. With the UWA-BR100 I can not see my own wireless network.

Does anyone has a solution for this problem?

Thanks

Sandra.

I have the Sony KDL60EX700 and the Sony UWA-BR100 wireless adapter. The adapter see's my router and has a strong reception (5 bars) but fails on Local access and Internet access. What to do?

I have had this EXACT problem (same models). Turning off the router and letting it restart get the TV going.
Once it is up it will some time loose the internet, and I have to restart the router.
I am working with Sony Support one this issue.
