I changed my motherboard to a gigabyte GA-8IPE775 G with a 3.06 pentium and the heatsink and fan inclooded. I put all the parts together then started it up. All seems to start well eg the fans are running the hdd can be heard firing up all power to the dvd rom and usb ports but get no display not even the bios comes up. The video card works perfectly on my other board as does the monitor. Have tryd shifting the ram in other dims , changed the onboard battery tryed to boot from a bootable disc but still nothing. It just sits ther running with the monitor saying no input signel, This board does not have a vga port so the video card has to be used. Is it possible its not reading the card although my older lame motherboard picked it up fine . This was bought second hand but i was assured it was working when pulled from the case. Thanks

SOURCE: which is the best cpu

Well that is kind of a far off question. Do you want to know the best processor on the market or the best processor for your motherboard?
The best one I would say for your motherboard (LGA775) would be Intel Core 2 Quad or Intel Core 2 Extreme (The extreme is just an unlocked and overclocked Core 2 Quad)
The best Processor on the market however would be on the LGA 1366 and LGA 1155 Sockets as teh Intel Core I7.

It sounds like the motherboard may not be getting full power. With several standards currently being used it can be confussing on what you have you have connected to get the system properly hooked up.

Make sure you have the P4 4 Pin connector plugged in on the system. It is easy to miss as it is behind the processor. If you do have it connected and still have trouble let me know what version of the motherboard do you have. This will help me troubleshoot the issue better.

GIGABYTE GA-M61SME-S2 AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard Will not post, tried clearing CMOS, moved memory chips around. Still does not post.

Is this a new board? Check the processor to make sure that it is seated properly. You will have to remove the fan and heatsink, but if you put the processor in yourself, it is possible that it didn't seat properly.

Is it possible fit replacement heatsink backplate?

Hi: The plastic heatsink mounts are available online, especially on ebay, and pay close attention to the type you have, the 2 hole mount. Another good option is to purchase aftermarket coolers, such as from Antec, Zalman or Cooler master. Every one I bought, came with the fan, heatsink, and mount.

No display by gigabyte GA8i915me motherboard

It sounds like your CPU might be overgeating. Check the CPU heatsink fan to see if it is spinning. Also, make sure that you clean out any dust, as this can lead to overheating also.

Esys 915 gl motherboard system

Hi, if I understood you right, you main concern is noise from the HSF (heatsink + fan). there are aftermarket HSF available with less noise yet higher fan rpm. you may want to try looking at http://www.tt-itbu.com/ for reference. Good luck. Kind regards.
