Hi The hot water is barely flowing out of the supertub tap that goes to the washing machine. I guess I need to dismantle the tap and have a look, but am unsure about all this. Also, do I have to empty the hot water cylinder, or is turning off the house supply suficient? Thank you - Mark

There will be pressure left in the system and hot water can be dangerous. If you are unsure you should probably get a plumber.

SOURCE: tap will not turn off on hot water supply to

try loosening the nut just below the handle with a crescent wrench, assuming it is not a push pull valve. turn it a half turn counter clockwise and then try turning the knob. if you a different type faucet let me know so I can tell you how to turn off. you can shot off the hot water heater control valves on top of the hot water machine to keep from losing as much water be careful when turning handle use rag in case the valve breaks. You may want to sprat a little WD-40 on it first, hope this helps.

SOURCE: Hi Guys, My machine will only wash in HOT water.

The first thing to check is the water inlet screens. Turn the water off and remove the cold water hose from the washer. There is a screen in the valve that keeps sand and debris out of the valve. You can remove the screen and clean it, then flush the hose in a bucket to get any remaining sand out. Reattach the hose and try it again. If that does not work the problem could be one of several things. From the fill valve to the electronic control. Hope that helps

Kenmore 70 series heavy duty plus washing machine model # 82374800 . Water drains out faster than it goes in, partly on the floor. Hot water barely comes on

i don't know. for drain, if in a stand pipe, it seems the drain pipe may be partly blocked. if hooked hose runs into sink, sink drain may be partly blocked, if drain water comes out too fast, consider a tywrap to hold a small towel around hose end to stop splashing. do not block the hose outlet.
low hot water flow may indicate supply hose is restricted. please shut off both cold and hot water supply . remove and inspect hot water hose for blockage. some hose have a screen filter in the end that needs cleaning.
if practical, connect the hot water hose to the hot tap and run water into sink to test for a good flow.

Machine wont fill with hot water

problem in hot water tap
hot water solenoid not activating to let water in
to prove either switch the hoses on the taps and press cold water wash
that proves the tap
then press hot wash and that proves the solenoid

I have a LG Punch WF-C5856TC washing machine. Off late, Notice that the water is trickling in rather than flowing. Hence it takes really really long time to wash clothes. Pls advise

The first place to look is the inlet tap in the wall
even you have the tap on full the tap washer inside jams and prevents the full flow of the water
next check out the filter in the hose at the tap or at the washing machine end
next replace the water inlet solenoid
you can check this by changing the hose from the hot water tap onto the cold water tap and pressing the hot water button to fill
solenoids do not know the difference , they just work when the power is applied

Washer not filling with water

Hi Karen. Problem may be the internal "tap" that operates electrically. First test - If you are trying for a cold wash, try a hot wash. If maching begins to fill you know this tap is your problem. There are 3 solutions if this is the case
1) swap hot and cold water hoses at the tap and tell machine to do a hot wash - only good if you only want cold washes
2) check where hoses connect to machine at rear - sometimes a fine mesh filter that has become clogged - may be at either end.
3) Replace the internal "tap"(solinoid). This "tap" has a rubber diaphram inside that may become stuck if the machine has not been used for a while. it can be easily dismantled and reasembled by a handyman.

How do I change the washer on a Rotec Supertub tap

Those taps are fairly hard to remove, so you'll need a big crescent spanner to remove them. I have had the same leaky tap on our supertub, but have found replacement tap washers unobtainable here in Blenheim. Please let me know if you can find any.Regards, Tom

Water hammering after disconnecting a washing machine. I have just replaced our old washing machine that took a hot and a cold feed, with a new washing machine that only takes a cold feed. I have turned...

You can use a water hammer arrestor and hook it up to old washing machine hot valve by use of a standard washer hose. This type of aresstor is basically. a shock absorber. You will needtonget pipe adapters to go from hose thread to pipe thread. If you can mount the hammer arressror higher then the washer valve. Hook everything up and turn old hot water valve back on. This shoulg take care of your problem. Thank you.

When washing machine goes to rinse cycle, water barely comes in

I am going to guess you run a warm wash, and cold rinse. This sounds like the screen on the cold water inlet is clogged. Shut the water off and remove the hose at the back of the machine. Look in the water inlet and see if the screen is clogged. If so, carefully scrape it as clean as you can. Use a straw and blow into it to help clear it out. Replace the hose and try it. It does not need to be perfectly clean, but at least half way opened will suffice.

Hot water barely trickling out to fill tub. hard water deposits? or what?

Have you checked the inlet filters on the water hoses ?

If you unscrew the water hoses from the machine, and look inside the connections on the machine, you should see the filters - they are usually a plastic "cage" supporting a gauze or fine mesh. These can be pulled out (you may need tweezers or fine nosed pliers) and washed under a running tap.

If this doesnt cure it, check that the hot water supply where the hoses connect to your house plumbing are actually fully on and flowing properly.

Otherwise, there is probably a fault with the solenoid valve on the machine that controls the flow of hot water in to your machine.
