There are several possible ways to remove a tape. This varies widely on what type of VCR design you have. Some types require the removal of the entire deck assembly to get the tape out. Others have an open load motor controlled by belts that can be moved slowly by hand to roll back the mechanism and free the tape. This type is probably the easiest. Most problems of this type require someone with a technical knowledge of how they work or a very clever person that has a good grasp of mechanical things. There is always the risk of getting the gear timing off if you remove the cassette load assembly.

If the tape is that important, you need someone who is familiar with vcr's and how they work, or technician. There is no easy way to explain what must be done to get the tape out in one piece.

VCR tape won't eject

Hello,

The reason your tape wont eject is either because, it is stuck or the tape run loose inside of it.

To remove the tape, unplug the VCR, then unscrew it open, you will have direct access to the tape, so try to plug it back and press eject, when it gets stuck, apply a little force in pushing the tape up, to the height where it is to pass out, and it will eject your tape.

If you are not familiar with such activities, i will advice you get a repairman to get this done for you, in order for you not to damage any other part inside the VCR.

Take cacre and good luck

Problem ejecting tapes getting stuck

The take up is not rewinding the tape all the way back into the shell. Check the idler, it's either worn or if it's plastic it is warped from the heat.

Video tape stuck

Unplug the VCR, take the cover off, find the motor (probably on the right side of the mechanism) and turn its shaft with your fingers until you have run the tape back out. Now plug it back in and try it again with a scarificial tape. If it continues to fail, replace all the rubber belts in the mechanism.
Hope ya fix it!
