Hi I dont know if i am supposed to connect the ethernet cable to the back of my modem? Yet, i already have the slot occupied because of comcast digital cable. what do i do?
The Ethernet cable from the Comcast modem needs to plug into the internet port of the LInksys router. From your linksys router you need to use another ethernet cable to go from any of the ports labeled (1-4) to the network adapter on your computer.
As long as you're using the default Internet configuration of the router you shouldn't have any problem getting on the internet.
Note: Sometimes the comcast modems store information about your computer that may conflict with the information on the new Linksys router. This may result in not allowing you to get on the internet. You should power off the Cable Modem, remove the coax "round connector" cable from the modem, wait 10 seconds, and screw the coax "round connection" back in and power the modem back up. This should clear out the configuration information from your computer and allow the cable modem to get the new information from your Linksys router.
Hope this helps.

Ok, cable (coax) comes in from wall and attaches to modem. Ethernet cable goes from modem to WAN Port of router. You may have to reboot both devices to ensure that your modem (internet service provider) assigns IP address to your router. If PC is close enough, attach new ethernet cable from one of the 4 ports on your router down to your PC's ethernet adapter. (where your modem used to plug into). Router will now assign an IP address to your PC and you should be able to access the www.
Good Luck and let me know if you have any more questions.
