The monitor does not have a built-in TV tuner and cannot function as a TV unless your computer has a TV tuner. In this case all you need to do is connect the monitor to your computer and start the TV tuner/program in your computer.

LCD monitor (viewsonic va720) "No signal"

You will need to disconnect the VGA cord that is connecting the monitor to the hard drive. Once you have that disconnected, try attaching another cord to determine if the cord is the issue. If you dont have another cord to test, then you will have to purchase another one from your local computer parts store and attach to determine if that is the issue you are having.

If the cord does not work, then you will have to take your monitor into a repair shop as there maybe an issue with the receiving port on the monitor.

I hope this was helpful and thanks for asking the experts.

ViewSonic VX2235WM turns on than screen goes blank changed power cords cable cords viedo card cpu still same problem

The problem is most likely the monitor itself. Hook up an old monitor (usually someone has an old monitor laying around) if the computer works with another monitor you'll know for sure.
Look at your monitor using a flash light at an angle, if you can see a picture in the background you have a bad inverter.

My viewsonic monitor works fine for some time but the n suddenly stops displaying even though the power cord is fine ...after some time it comes alive or some times by fidgeting with the power cord.....

It sounds like a loose connection. The easy thing to try is to replace the power cord to make sure that's not the problem. If that doesn't fix it, it's probably a broken or loose wire inside the monitor that you would need to trace down with a multimeter.
