I want to instal my scanner x lexmark on windows 2007

Make sure the Lexmark X2500 scan software/driver is already installed in your computer. Here's the User's Guide for the Lexmark X2500 printer. Click on the link to download:

There are several ways to scan. Place your document face down on the glass. If you have the Lexmark software loaded and running its monitor program, either press the scan button (the second button) on the printer or launch the Lexmark Imaging Studio (Start > All Programs > Lexmark 2300 Series > Lexmark Imaging Studio or double click on the shortcut on the desktop) and click one of the Scan options (pictures or text).

The All-in-one Center will open and you can adjust the scan settings and the destination for the scan. Click Scan Now to scan.

If you have Vista, you can also scan to Paint. In Windows 7, both Paint and Windows Fax and Scan will also acquire scans.

If you have problems, try a new USB cable or connecting to a different port. Scanners require bi-directional communication with the computer and can fail even when the printer works.

When you press the "scan" button on the lexmark, the scanner is trying to connect to a specific software program that in this case you may not have installed.

You will want to try to test the scanner driver directly.
For windows XP and Vista, try the following.

1. Open your start menu
2. Select Control Panel
3. Select "scanners and cameras"
NOTE: for windows Vista, make sure you are in "classic view" to see scanners and cameras.
4. Check whether there is the lexmark listed in this window.

For windows 7, you will need to do something a little different.

1. Open your start menu
2. go to All programs
3. Open "windows Fax and scan"
4. Click on "new scan".
5. Check whether there is the lexmark listed in this window.

If there is no lexmark, you need to check the lexmark website for drivers. If the lexmark is there, try double clicking the icon to run the scan wizard.

I have the same printer, Windows Vista, and also only use the device drivers, but do not experience the problem you are having. The only problem I have with it is that scanning using MS Office 2007 times out before the image can completely transfer. So uninstalling your existing drivers and then reinstalling may do the trick.

If you still wish to install the All-In-One Center software, Lexmark will only provide the device drivers, as you have discovered. However, there are reports that the Lexmark X6100 series AIO (All-In-One) is identical to the Dell A960 AIO. And, fortunately, Dell is kind enough to provide the similar All-In-One Center software.

First of all, I don't know any version of Windows XP Professional 2007, but I'm assuming you are using Windows XP Professional.
You can try in your computer, go to Printer, choose Scanners and Cameras and then open the Lexmark X2650 scanner (if shown).
If not shown you should download and install the drivers from Lexmark

1. Remove the scanner software perfectly and Re-install it again according to the instruction.
Note: Must connect your scanner with PC before installing the software.

2. Very often if you enter the page before starting the scanner the scanner show problem.
So When you want to scan first start the scanner and then enter the page into the scanner.


3. You say now there is nothing. For a computer virus this also can occur. In this situation
first remove the virus and then follow the no. 1 & 2 step. Hope you will be able to work and do
better.

You need scan using the windows photos gallery on your computer as Lexmark do not have scanner drivers for Vista...
