My office jet G85 won't print. No error messages appear,it has a new color cartridge,it copies, but won't print from my computer.

If it copies ok, then the issue is either the way it is cabled to computer or the print driver software settings on pc.... How is it connected via USB? Check port and correct driver is in windows/control panel/printers. Reinstall.

My J4680 only prints color, no black. Printer is

Your black cartridge is most definitely clogged. You can easily check that by removing the cartridge and press the print head on some tissue. If there is no mark, the print head on your black cartridge is clogged. Now, HP has some kind of software head cleaning. It doesn't always work, but you can try. Here is a link to HP site, referring to your problem: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01361894&cc=bg&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3692888
Read carefully and follow the instructions.
If that doesn't solve your problem, you should buy a new black cartridge.
Also, bear in mind that with ink-jet printers, you need to print something at least once in 10-15 days, otherwise the print head will again get clogged and you will be facing the same issue over and over again. If you do not print on a regular basis, make some kind of test page, that contains black, yellow, magenta and cyan. Print that page once in 2 weeks and your printer will always work fine.

Incompatible print cartridge tri color error message on hp officejet J4680 after clean cartridige and printer and replace with new cartridge

There may be debris that is blocking the communication between the cartridge and the printer. Remove the cartridge and unplug the printer from the power supply. Take a little bit of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and wipe off the contacts on the cartridge as well as the contacts inside of the printer. Allow both to dry for a few minutes before plugging the printer back in and re-installing the cartridge. This should clear up any miscommunication between the two.

J4680 printer cartridge problem with color will not print color

Is this cartridge an HP factory new cartridge?

Most companies build logic into the printer to prevent refilled cartridges or third party cartridges from being used.

They do this because they have protect both the print quality and the printer from damage by poor quality ink.

My HP J4680 printer/fax machine keeps displaying the error message "Print Cartridge Problem Tri-color". I have taken the cartridges out and put them back in to see if this will work. It did once and I went...

Try this...http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01443507&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3692888The message you're getting is a little different, but cleaning the cartridges and the contacts inside the printer might help and might explain why it worked when you pulled them out and put them back in once before.
