Hello ,this unit has a smart battery charger. This type of charger will charge at a higher voltage to maintain the battery by keeping the plates clean. Have you checked the charging voltage at various times to verify that the voltage is always at 15.7? The voltage should level off at around 14 volts. Also, try another voltmeter just to confirm the voltage. Some meters can read differently. I had a meter that did this for me and it drove me slightly nuts. I hope this helps.

Bissell Spotlifter 1715. What's the output voltage & amperage of the charger for Bissell Spotlifter 1715?

No one says the output voltage and amperage, you just buy them for the Bex Bissell unit. They are dual voltage in 110 to 220. If you have the old one, it will be written in tiny writing on the charger, usually white writing on the face and engraved on the inner surface where the pins are. There are a number in the link from Walmart, eBay and Amazon.

Will not charge the charging light is flashing

I'm not familure with your device but this is battery charging101. For a battery to charge the input voltage must be higher than the operating voltage of the battery. An example of this is your car. You have a 12 volt battery in your car and the alternator applies 13.4 volts or so to charge it. It is the same with any battery charger be it phone, laptop, chordless drill or small AA,AAA,C,D battery charger, that being said is the Dyson charger a seprat device? If so it can easily be tested at Batteries Plus, Any big box auto parts store, any high school electronics class. Check your owners manual it should give you the operating voltage, check that against what you discover about your charger. The charger only needs higher voltage output than the battery it doesn't have to bee a lot more. If you have further ? Email me at [email protected] good luck. Ps, you can by a reasonably accurate and easy use volt meter at W-mart for under $20. I am attacking video from u tube as to usage it's not difficult and well worth the money.

How do you make it blow air out? trying to make air blow out,i have the hose that has controls on it. will work to **** up but when i put it to blow out will not come on.

The Guardian Canister vacuums have a blow port under the filter. So you need to remove the filter (on the Guardian Ultra, you have to open the top of the vacuum) by lifting it up the forward. Then disconnect the hose from the normal suction end of the unit and plug it into the blower port. Now turn on the vacuum. If the hose is clogged, position the other end of the hose at the suction port.

For the Guardian canister, select the high, medium or low force for the motor. Then blow the dust out from under the furniture or use to fill an inflatable. Turn off the vacuum and replace the hose in the usual position and replace the filter when done.

If you are still unable to get the unit to blow out when connected to the exhaust port after attempting to clear the hose, separate the hose, wand and handle. Look down the hose for any object that might be creating a one-way valve. Remove the foreign object.Do the same with the other parts of the unit. Also replace the vacuum bag. If the bag is sufficiently full, the airflow will be reduced through the bag to the exhaust and cause the problem you describe.

The Electrolux Guardian Canister Vacuums are part of the Aerus line. The manuals for the vacuums are available here: http://www.aerusvacuums.com/support/manuals/index.cfm . The Guardian Ultra is in the current model section. The Guardian is listed in the Older Model drop-down menu.

I hope this helps.

(many canister vacuums have a blower mode when you connect the hose to the exhaust (after the bag) instead of the suction side of the unit.)

My simer ace in the hole a5000 will not charge my 2.5 year old battery. The battery voltage reads 10.75 volts. I replaced the twelve volt charger and it originaly lit the yellow charging light , but it no...

I does sound like a controller issue. Try testing the charging output (be careful, who knows what the voltage may be coming out) I would say it is the battery but the yellow light thing has me thinking you are right. That thing has been sitting there maintaining the battery for 17 years, it is probably tired. The other bad news is if your battery has been sitting at that low volta.ge it may have a greatly reduced capacity now. Hope this helps some. .

Will not hold a charge

if it will not hold a charge - then I would say that the battery is weak, old and bad and needs to be replaced. there is also a chance that the charger ityself is not putting out enough voltage to totally charge the battery. use a volt meter to check the charger and see if it is putting out the correct voltage,, if it is at the right voltage - then replace the battery.
