The only way to change this is to change the settings on your router see instructions below.

To open the set up page of the router of the router , one of your computer should be able to go online through the router.
It could be a wired computer or wireless computer.
If it is a wireless computer then make sure that the computer is connected to your own wireless network.
Do not change any wireless settings on the router using a wireless computer.
OK ! Now you have a computer online through the router and you want to open the set up page of the router.

First step is check the IP address of the computer.
Check the IP address and the Default gateway on the computer.

For Windows XP

START ==> RUN ==> type in cmd in the RUN box==> click OK or Hit ENTER . You will see a black window that is a command prompt . In the black window type in " ipconfig " ==> and Hit ENTER on your key board .

For Windows Vista and Windows 7

click on START ==> type in cmd in the start search box ==> enter ==> you will see the black window. Type in " ipconfig "you will see a lot of information. Try to find out the local area connection IPv4 address .

Note down the Default gateway number.

For MAC OS

Click APPLE icon in the right top corner of the computer. Go to System Preferences ==> go to Network ==> you will find the option Built in Ethernet or Airport whichever is connected. If you go to that you will find the Ip address and router Address.

The default gateway is the IP address of your router.

This IP address of the router will be used to open the set up page of the router

Now you got the IP address of the router.Open the Internet Browser ( Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari )

In the Address bar of the browser Type the IP address of the router.

Do not type http:// or www just type in the IP address only.

It will ask you for the user name and the password of the router.

This is the User name and the password of the router and NOT the wireless password. On a wireless router, there are 2 passwords. One is to access the router and the other one is for the wireless network.

For most of the routers the default password will be " admin " . for some routers the default password is " password ". For Linksys router the default password is admin and no user name.

HI, I bought a CD-R KING router WR-NET 021-ZI router, but my brother accidentally reset the button.

I am not familiar with this specific router, but...
You can try to browse to http://192.168.0.1 or if nothing comes up, try http://192.168.1.1 - these are the most common IP addresses for routers. If you get a page showing in your browser, follow menus to Wireless and Security. You should be able to set security type and password.

Is this "unsecure" network your own network.. i.e your d-link router?

If so you can configure your router for security.

Smart phone

You have to have a SIM, any company, with or without GPRS. The phone will search the WiFi network and ask you if you want to browse the net. You select yes and then it will as you the WEP key (security password). Enter that and you are over the air. If it is an unsecured network (you have to be lucky for that) then it will not ask for WEP key and connect you straight away. I was in New York for two months and carrying my Nokia E61i. No international roaming, too expensive, no local SIm, only my Indian SIM. And I was thru always on the internet. I would stand under a tall building and search for WiFI network. And mostly I would locate an unsecured hotspot. And I was thru.

It connects to a unsecured net gear but wont to my linksys g i have a 16 diget key could this be the problem thanks barry

Yes.
If your wireless adapter connects fine to an unsecured access point, but will not connect to your secured access point, the problem is in the security layer. Either you are not feeding your adapter the right key, or your adapter doesn't support the encryption type your access point is demanding.

I have a acer aspire one notebook laptop and I want internet so I try to click on Network Center but nothing happens

ok that is simple. if you have a wireless card installed on your laptop all you have to do is right click on the two little monitors that you will see on the bottome right hand conner of the screen. then go to connect to a network click on that. next a screen should appear with a list of all available networks with in reach of your laptop. if you see a yellow/gold shield it means that the wifi connection is unsecured and i dont recommend that you use it unless you have a antivirus and or a spyware program installed. look for any unsecure wifi connections and which might have 2 or more bars 3 or more is recommeded for a decent connection 4 or more and you are gonna have fun while on the net. when you find one if you find one cause you always wont the next screen will say if you want to save the network and start it automatically make sure both boxes are checked. then one more window show pop up and at that time it should have 3 selections normally chose public location unless you know that the wifi signal is your own. hope i have been able to help you solve your issue. have a bless day.

Excellent Wireless Network Connection, cannot access internet

The unsecure public network nay be using mac address filtering. In this case, the network will show as being unsecured, and will even allow you to connect in some cases, but then will not allow you to surf once connected.

SECURITY ISSUE ON LAPTOP- UNSECURED ON NETWORK

You didn't specify what router you are using and what type of connection. I assume you are using wireless connection from your laptop. What you need to do is setup security on your router. I can't give you any specifics because I don't know the model of your router. Please read documentation and try to go to wireless security on your router and setup 64-bit WEP then specify 10-digit code. Save your configuration. Try to connect your laptop to the network. If it prompts specify the same WEP security then enter the same 10-digit code. It should work.

Good luck!
