HE2plus quits with 1 minute left. Tried the rins/drain/spin several times. Sometimes get F-21 code. Checked the drain. However, the impeller in the pump seems stiff to turn - could this cause the problem? If so, is it likely the pump itself, or the motor?

Hi

Error code SD means LONG DRAIN. This error appears when the drain time exceeds 8 minutes and the water valves turn off. After 4 minutes the "Sd" error will be displayed, and then 4 minutes later the F21 error code will be displayed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display. Please Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. If the drain hose if fine then unplug the washer and check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects. To access the drain pump and filter remove the front kick panel and trace the drain hose to the bottom of the washer, drain pump would be located there. If you are not able to access it, then replace the back panel as well. Plug in washer or reconnect power. If the issue is still not resolved then you would need to replace the drain pump.

E21 means a blockage in the drain pump.
I would check the impeller spins freely. A coin from a pocket can cause that error as it gets stuck in the impeller.

It is most likely the drain pump. The impeller shaft is probably slightly bent causing it to not soon properly.

Washing Machine not draing
You seem to be almost right, the impeller must have come off due to heavy dirt build up, the readings are OK since the motors are working. What needs to be done is to remove the drain assembly and clean before you can reset or if not replace the unit if the impeller is too loose and will not stay fit.

Kenmore he2plus what's troublecode f-21
F21 on the tech sheet says Long Drain If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes the water valve turns off.
NOTE: After 4 mins the "Sd" error will be displayed then 4 mins later the f/21 error code will be displayed.
Press Stop two times to clear the display.

(Solutions:) Check drain hose
unplug washer and check electrical connections at pump
Check filter for foreign objects
If these fail it says to replace pump.

Got an OE error, now it will not finish rinse and spin, sounds like it is grinding in the spin cycle and the timer is stopped at 27 minutes remaining. What is wrong?
The problem is in the drain system as what error code OE stands for.The grinding noise is coming from the drain pump. Loose change, hair pins and the likes can get into the pump filter and sometimes into the pump impeller causing a grinding noise during the spin cycle because the pump works while the machine is spinning. The pump impeller may also be broken causing the grinding noise.

Disconnect power then open the filter door on the bottom left of the cabinet.

Remove the drain plug and drain the water out completely into a shallow basin or the likes. Once drained, lay a piece of towel under the filter then turn the filter knob counterclockwise and remove it. Clean the filter and reach in the pump impeller to check it if blocked or broken. If cleaning the filter does not solve the problem, you need to access the drain pump assembly and check the pump particularly the impeller thoroughly. F-21 error code, washer stops
Hi,

Check for the drain hoses(both sides of the pump) and check for a blockage,then check the pump for blockage,there should be 4 impellers on this pump and they can get broken off by coins and debris.

F21 error on kenmore he2plus washmachine. Door locks. Due to no spinning and water remaining in the machine? I run the rinse/drain&spin program (15 minutes) several times. it stays at 15min remaining...
"F21" is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be displayed. This may be an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:


1.First, attempt to unplug the washer for at LEAST 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). Sometimes this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches with the unit. If the error code returns, proceed to step 2.
2.Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
3.Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
4.Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.


If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump.

Code f-21. Wahing machine keeps on showing code F-21 after I put it on rins/drain cycle, and 2nd spin. What should I do now?
What you should do is get a flashlight, remove the hose from the pump and look into the suction port on the pump. Check the blades on the pump impeller. Make sure that no blades are broken or missing and that the impeller rotates freely. If any blades are missing or broken or if you cannot get the impeller to turn freely, then the pump will need to be replaced. Hope this helped and best wishes.

"F21" is a long drain error code. This is most commonly caused by something obstructing the drain pump, or drain lines. The following link explains:

I would begin by checking the drain pump reservoir for small debris. You would be amazed as to what finds its way into these pumps. The link I provided also gives instructions on how to check the drain pump.

If you clear the drain pump and the problem still presists, verify all the drain lines are clear. If all these preliminary checks still result in an error code, more than likely the drain pump is damaged and requires replacement.

Kenmore HE2plus wont spin...F-21 error
Apparantly the F21 error means there is a drain problem...I removed the drain hose from the output in the wall and held it down at ground level and let it drain into a pot...I ran the rinse, drain and spin cycle while I did this but before I hit the start button I hit the 2nd rinse button to turn off the rinse portion of the cycle. It seems to be draining fine now.
