Hi,
I've got bad news for you . Your hard drive is damaged for sure and you will need to replace it . It's totaly impossible to install a OS on a damaged drive and at least not recommended .
To retreive data , you will need to disconnect the drive and read it in a external box from a healthy computer .
The chance that the issue would be due to a defect SCSI connection is extremely small .
Regards .

When I try to instal a windows vista on my computer it says that I should load the hard drive's driver. I don't have such a thing and I can't find it anywhere. I have a Seagate ST3160812AS Barracuda 7200.9...

i was wondering are tying to install additional partition or you wanted a dual boot? or simple want to install WVista completely from scratch? normally what you need to do is hit F12 go to boot menu then your bottable CD should be on the CD/DVD drive already and re-format your hard drive...

No hard disk found......

You must first press f6 to load the SATA drivers for the hard drive before you go forward with the install.

Can i setup my seagate hard drive as a slave even though it has a another version of windows xp installed/?

Yes. Be careful to setup your boot priority sequence to boot the desired OS from the correct drive.

Also if this drive was a master before, you may need to re-position the jumper.
