I have a konica minolta dimage z2 and can not figure out how to turn the flash on. I have pushed the button that has the litening bolt and the flash does not come on at all causing bad pics when indoors

because this particular model of the Z series does not have a mic. recording. kind of a waste but if you went to another model (I.E.. Z2) it does have the mic. to record. sorry but i went through the same issue myself. good luck
If its a simple menu item change your looking for, change your color mode to natural color. If that doesn't help, reset the camera to manufacturer default.
Spare yourself the trouble. I had researched it (I thought) and got one, and stuck it in. The screen read: "Unable to use," It continued to read this, even after I formatted the card, so I ended up giving it to my brother, who has a Kodak camera. Sorry!
Well, I also bought the DiMAGE Z2, and my problem was similar: It worked for some time, but then it started freezing sometimes, not responding to any button I pressed. One time, it froze, shut off, and I wasn't able to power it up again.
In short, the camera was still under its warranty, so I gave it to their lab and they fixed the problem.
