Hi,
some buzzing is normal with these types of heaters. the buzzing is a magnification of the alternating current which comes from the power company which cycles at 60 times a second. be extremely careful with this type of heater. never leave it on and leave the house.

I had the dealership install a dash panel that a lot of cars have that covers that hole underneath the glovebox where the blower motor is....sound is now gone..either that or I cant hear it anymore...bottom line is i'm happy...oh and they told me they ordered the dash panel from a forester model that fits with very little moderation...cost me 70.00 but Subaru of America split the cost due to my complaining!

When i turn on my heater after a few minutes it will make a long buzzing sound

1. Check for loose connections at the heater coil terminals area. If everything's alright, one of your heating
elements is about to give up, and it may need to be replaced.
2. You may also check the other components, since you will be opening the HeatDish Compact Heater.
Hope this will help you.

Buzzing sound when aux heat comes on

Sounds like it could be a effiency function to warn you that the heat elements are on. Check your thermostat manual and see if you can turn this feature off. If this is not a feature then the thermostat may be wired wrong or something in the circuit may be trying to short out.
