Cmd.exe, also known as the command prompt, is the command-line interpreter on Windows PCs. You do not need to download it it is already a part of Win XP.

All you need to do is click on Start, select Run and in the dialog box that opens type "cmd" and press Enter. A command prompt window will open.

Desktop and taskbar are being hidden by white screen

First you have to get administrator privileges (if you already do, Ignore this) but when starting up your computer get into recovery mode (Esc then F11, or whatever you have to do in the startup menu). If you have HP support on your computer, click the center panel and go into command prompt cmd prompt you cd to System32 folder on windows 7 (like C:\Windows\System32). you do that, then follow this order very carefully: copy cmd.exe cmd1.exe then rename sethc.exe sethc1.exe then rename cmd1.exe sethc.exe then get out of recovery mode, but typical people have NORMAL COMPUTERS. when you try to recover, hit cancel when asked about system restore. When the error message pops up, click on the details, open the text doc, and click save as. In that window, you browse to C:\Windows\System32 and basically do what you can do in the cmd prompt. copy cmd.exe, rename sethc.exe, then rename cmd.exe's copy to sethc.exe, then reboot normally. trigger sticky keys (hit shift many times) which brings up the command prompt. You can type explorer.exe into it to bring the taskbar up. click on the show desktop button

How to register ocx on vista

[Solution # 1]
Drag and drop it onto regsvr32.exe in Windows\system32 folder. Make a shortcut for regsvr32.exe in the same folder the OCX is in and drag and drop it that way

[Solution # 2] Just run cmd.exe as administrator and try again. This is the key.

Here, step by step:

1. find the folder of cmd: it is usually on C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
2. Do right click over cmd.exe and click on "run as Administrator"
3. now just use regsvr32.exe as you used to do!

For example, to register most Blackd Proxy ocxs, you might need to type this in "Administrator" cmd:

regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\richtx32.ocx
regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\comdlg32.ocx
regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\mswinsck.ocx
regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\msflxgrd.ocx
regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\msinet.ocx
regsvr32.exe C:\windows\system32\comctl32.ocx

A side result for Visual Basic 6.0 users: this seems to be the way to use components in Windows Vista properly. Just register the components of your proyect with "Administrator" cmd before adding them to your proyect (or before opening a proyect that already had such components)

[Solution # 3]
use this in command line

REGSVR32 /V then ur ocx or dll name
ex:
REGSVR32 /V CRPAIG32.DLL

[Solution # 4]
right-clicking the batch file and selecting
'run as administrator'.

Registered:
richtx32.ocx
comdlg32.ocx
mscomctl.ocx
dxtmeta2.dll

Good luck
