Hi Hss Holdings,

The easiest way to do this is to use a formula called vlookup. You need to have the raw data some where in the workbook, but it can be a separate sheet. Put all the raw data in a table, make sure the account number is on the furthest left column, then start entering the formulas

vlookup(value_to_find, table_to_check, column_index_number, range_lookup(true/false))

value_to_find = the value you want to find on the left most column of the table
table_to_check = the table you want to find the data from
column_index_number = the column number of the data field you want to return into this cell, 1 = the left most column.
range_lookup = false for an exact match, true for the nearest match

Say the table is on sheet2 between A1 and E300

B15 is whatever you type, so no formula needed here
B12 =VLOOKUP(C1,Sheet2!A1:E300,2,FALSE)
G12 = B12 =VLOOKUP(C1,Sheet2!A1:E300,3,FALSE)
etc

Help. have starimaster 4600cl getting "config rqrd" error

Display reads CONFIG RQRD or NTM CONFIG RQD on Stairmaster Equipment Probable Cause The message CONFIG RQRD or NTM CONFIG RQD appears when the console needs to be configured for the machine type it is installed. This message is common when the console has been replaced or if the settings have been changed. Message is commonly seen on various Stairmaster equipment such as bike models 3000CE, 3300CE, 3400CE, 3600RC, 3800RC and 3900RC; stepper models 4400PT, 4600PT, 4400CL, 4600CL and SC916; stepmill models 7000PT and SM916; elliptical model ClubStride 5100.
Corrective Action
  • Make sure the unit is in an "idle" state. "Idle" state means the console is not displaying an error or any message that requires data input. The display should basically be freshly powered up, scrolling the EKG or welcome message
  • Configure the console for the proper machine type by pressing Level UP, 80, ENTER
  • Using the Level UP or Level DOWN keys, scroll through to the proper machine type (Bike, Elliptical, Stairclimber or Stepmill)
  • Once the proper machine type is shown on the display select the machine type by pressing ENTER
  • This completes the steps necessary when your Stairmaster display reads CONFIG RQRD or NTM CONFIG RQD

Excel cell replacement

To have the contents of the cell change from something you input into something else, you would need to put in a macro using VBA. You'll need someone who knows VBA to help with that.

OR... It is a lot easier to get similar results, if you are ok with using a few more cells to do it. The item# will remain where it was entered, and the product name will have to go in a different cell. In that case, you can use a lookup formula.

To do this, lets say your item# is entered in cell 'Sheet1'!C1, and you want the product_name to display in cell 'Sheet1'!D1. On another sheet (lets say sheet2) In cells 'Sheet2'!A1:B5 input the item#'s in the first column (column A1:A5) and input the matching product-names in column B1:B5. This is your lookup data. This sheet can be hidden if you want In cell 'Sheet1'!D1, use a vlookup formula that will look at the item# and find a match in the list, and display the product name for you. =vlookup('Sheet1'!C1,'Sheet2'!$A$1:$B$5,2,false)
This will display N/A# if the number can't be found.

There is function called INPUT, which opens an input window and waits for user input. The input is stored in macro cell and you can refer to it later. To get to the end of (or top of) use SELECT.END and you will go from the active cell to the first blank cell up, down, left or right depending on the argument you enter. These are Macro Version 4.0 functions and there are similar functions in VBA RHands
