My Canon zr70 MC will not accept any cassettes. It says to "eject the cassette" as soon as you turn it on. It will not accept new ones or play the older ones already recorded. I can't download/play any of my movies to the TV or computer either.

SOURCE: My ZR30mc video recorder will not eject cassette

Take the side panel off to see whether the tape is damaged and will not retreat into the cassette ( this will prevent ejection ). Remove old damaged cassette and insert new one. If the unit chews the new cassette camera should go in for VTR service.

SOURCE: cassette loading error 31:23

I have had this same problem several times. In all cases the problem has been a tape that has been run at the very end of it's lenght and it is too tighten. I loose the tape manually just a bit and it helps. Just be careful not to leave the tape too loose.

For loosing the tape you have to push the lock button with e.g. a pen and while doing that just take the tape out just a bit. Tape should be left at the level it was. It must not look like a loosen tape. If you get it out too much, just roll it back by twisting the reel again while pushing the lock button down.

To be able to loose the tape you of course need to open the protective lid first. For this there is a separate lock switch at the side of the cassette.

MC-60 tape says, "end of

Wow, microcassettes! (Sorry, I thought they were so cutting edge when they were.......cutting edge!)
Anyway, forgive the humour - you've most likely got a tape jam in the cassette itself but if it does this with other cassettes then you've got a dead rewind function your message indicates that you've got a later model recorder with a status display.
What does Fast Forward do?
I know it's annoying but the cheapest option may be to turn the cassette over and use FF if it works OK.
Have you checked out digital pocket recorders?
For the same money, or less, than yours likely cost new, they free you from cassettes, tape winding time, poor quality - all those analogue hassles.
The memory (time) capacity even the most bog-standard (as we say in the UK!) ones have is mind blowing.

A red "eject" sign keeps falshing and the cassette

Tape mechanism problems can be quite complicated. This will require disassembling the camera to repair the tape mechanism and can be done fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

Can get my cassette adapter for my ipod to work it keeps ejecting the cassette

I also have a '95 ford explorer. Same problem. I took the screws out of the tape and opened up the adapter. I took out all the gears EXCEPT for the one large one in the middle two on either side. Now it works perfectly.

Message - eject cassette

My mv830i developed this problem as I was going on my first training flight from Redhill Aerodrome and I was absolutely gutted! My moment of glory and the Canon refuses to accept the cassette. Had to resort to SD card recording. Did'nt get much footage using this method. Anyway on arriving home I sought out solutions from the Internet. I tried blowing any possible dirt from the cassette compartment but to no avail. Then I read about the 'drop it on the carpet' method. Instead of carpet, I tried an old shoe box. After about three attempts from nearly 1 metre - hey presto! It actually worked! The camera took the cassette and all was well again. How on earth this method of fixing was discovered is beyond me - but worked it did for me! Hope it does for you too.
