Just took my Whirlpool Dryer out of the box. Plugged it in and all the lights are flashing and Only goes off if I unplug it. :(
You will have to run the tests in the manual.It should tell you what to do if the diagnostic mode can not be entered. If you remove the top the tech manual should be under there.There are screws along the back edge of the top to remove it.You need to put the machine into its diagnostic mode.It should give a code as to what is the problem.The tech manual will tell you how to do this. Check the power supply: Make sure the dryer is properly plugged into a working outlet and that the circuit breaker hasn't tripped. If the dryer isn't getting power, the start button won't work.
Check the door switch: Even though the door is closed, the door switch might be malfunctioning and not registering that the door is closed. Try opening and closing the door a few times to see if that helps. If it doesn't, you might need to replace the door switch.
Check the thermal fuse: If the dryer overheats, the thermal fuse will blow and the dryer won't start. You can check the thermal fuse with a multimeter to see if it's working properly.
Check the control board: If none of the above solutions work, the control board might be malfunctioning. Unfortunately, testing and replacing the control board can be tricky and might require a professional.
