Hello P Ottinger - One of the best ways to determine if this
is a false error code is to reset the power to the appliance by either
unplugging it or flipping off the breaker. It is important to wait
approximately ten minutes and then turn the unit back on. Once the unit is back
on, confirmed that the control panel is not locked. The error code should clear
and the unit should reset. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on
the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed
or if the unit's status has changed successfully. Thank you.
Factory Code settings 1234, To change the factory code press button 1 for 2 seconds, wait for 2 beeps, now enter your new 4 digit code, you will hear a further 2 beeps to confirm the new code. If the battery is removed the code will revert to the preset code(1234)
HI, The power surge has, essentially, destroyed your main control boards circuitry. This will happen during a power surge. Most oven control board are not protected from this type of potential damage. To confirm, simply unplug your unit for 5 minutes. Once the five minute reset has passed, simply re- introduce power to the unit, and observe. If you experience the same issues after the five minutes reset, this will confirm the damage to the control board.
It must be replaced if the damage persist after the reset.
HI. This error code is a indication of a Control Board Calibration Shift. This will be the result of a failed chip set. Use the procedure below to confirm the damage.
1. Disconnect power for at least 30 seconds.
2. Re-apply power and observe for at least one minute.
3. If code re-appears, replace control board(main).
Ok. this is a control fault. the chip set is damaged. this will usually happen when there is a surge or power failure during a storm orfaulty transformer on the outside pole. you Will need to replace this damaged Electronic control board if possible . it has failed.
You can confirm my diagnosis by cutting the power to the oven for 5 minutes. this will reset the control. if the oven continues to react this way with the constant beeping and, non action, this will confirm major control failure..It is possible that this reset will recognize the program and fix this fault but, normally, a fault of this nature will require the replacement of the Oven control board.
Hi. This may be a control fault. You can confirm this by unplugging this unit from the socket for 3 mins. once this hard reset is preformed, plug the unit back in the socket and power up. if the control display still reads (help), it will have confirmed a major control fault and you will have to replace the control board within this unit. if you cant physically unplug this unit, you can just shut off the circuit breaker for three mins as well.
First, try to clear the code. To do this you must push and hold # and 'cancel' at the same time until the screen asks for an ID code. Then type in (using the key pad) S1234 (you get S by pressing 7 five times) Then simply press 'clear all' and the code should disappear.
If that doesnt work then pull the oven from the wall by removing the door and unscrewing the stainless steel trim. Pull the oven straight out and attatch the pull handles to pull it completely out. Next, place the oven on a secure stand (such as a milk crate). Then turn off the breaker to all electricity in your kitchen and confirm the power is off. Then, using a 'Torx' brand bit, take off the sheetmetal cover on top of the oven. Download a service manual to your oven and check power to the fan as described in the manual. You can find service manuals on the web (do not use owners manuals) Next, check power at the Hall effect sensor as described in the manual. You just need a volt-ohm meter to do these tests. The manual describes it well. If these tests confirm the fan is not defective, you need a relay board. Dacor part #101559. I got one for $165 last week from Dacor. 99% of the time this is the problem and the boards are even back-ordered. Dont be critical of Dacor, the ovens work well. My advice is just to buy the extended warranty when you get one. Like any high performance machine, they run well if cared for by experts.
IT should time out eventually. I am not sure if there is a way to reset it but if you hold the control lock button for 3 seconds (If it is Locked) and wait it SHOULD time out. I hope this helps to some extent.
