I like to get up close pics of objects especially plants and scenery. The problem is when I zoom in the picture is always blurry and cannot focus on objects that are not far away. Is there anyway setting on the camera that would help with this or is the zoom only for zooming on far away objects?

Most cameras come with an option called macro, this setting is for close up shots.on your camera it needs to set at wide angle.when choosing the shooting mode move left or right and choose the icon of a flower.if you adjust the zoom, a zoom bar will appear at the top of the lcd.if you try to use a zoom not intended for macro shots the flower icon will gray out and the bar will appear yellow,if you take a picture with the yellow bar it will be blurry.if you zoom out a little until it stops you should be ok. if you use a flash in macro mode the images edges usually will darken.hope this helps.

When i turn on my camera to take a pic it is blurry but if i zoom the lens all the way close to the object it takes a good pic.

Your auto-focus is not working. Inside the camera is a motor that adjusts the lens to focus on an object automatically. It is currently stuck to "close" or near focus. However, it doesn't go far focus. Check the focus functions of you camera - try to use manual focus.

Im trying to take closeup pics of jewelry, which is the reason I purchased this 12x zoom. I am using the super macro feature but my pics are blurry. Can you give me any tips? Deb

In super macro mode, there is a minimum focussing distance. Any closer, and you have no hope of locking in a focus. So, be sure you don't go past this point.Close up pics have a very shallow "depth of focus" meaning that very little in front or behind what you focussed on will be in focus. Is anything in focus in your pics? If you can exert some manual control over lens openings, you could try using a smaller opening to get more of your subject in focus. When taking close-ups, always use a tripod.

Pictures are appear blurry when reviewing them. I focus the camera object appears clear after I snap the picture it becomes blurry as it is being save for review.

Question : Why are my pictures out of focus (blurry)? Answer : This problem can occur for one or more reasons. Here are some common causes and suggested solutions.
  • The lens is dirty. Use a soft brush to remove dust and dirt. Wipe the lens gently with a soft, lint-free cloth or an untreated lens-cleaning tissue. Do not use cleaning solution unless it is designed specifically for camera lenses.
  • The subject was too close to the camera. Make sure that you are far enough away from your subject. Each camera has a recommended distance for normal, telephoto (zoom), wide-angle, and close-up pictures.
  • The subject was not within the effective range of the flash. Each camera has an effective flash range.
  • The camera did not focus or expose the picture correctly. For the best possible pictures, press the shutter button halfway and hold. When the Ready light or framing marks turn green, press the shutter button completely down to take the picture.
  • The LCD screen Preview feature was not used to take a picture in Close-Up mode. Always use the Preview feature in Close-Up mode to confirm focus and to frame the subject properly. If the Preview feature is not used, the LCD will not display an accurate view of the subject.
  • The subject or camera moved. Hold the camera very steady when taking a picture, or place the camera on a flat, stable surface. You may want to consider using a tripod or monopod.

Don't know how to take close-ups of objects.

Don't go too close to the object, since the lense works similar to the eye. EX if you put something mm. away from the eye it appears blurry and hard to see.
You need a certain distance and then use the zoom untill you have the desired image.
In SCN there is a special option for close up pics.

Pls. rate me good if any of these tricks have been useful for you.
Good luck

Close-up photos always end up out of focus.

Use the close-up mode by pressing the button with the flower (tulip) icon until that icon shows on the screen. Place the camera on a tripod or solid surface to make sure it is steady.

WHEN I ZOOM IN (CLOSE UP HOWDO I GET A CLEAR

When you zoom in, you have to re-focus. If you get too close, you need to switch to "macro" mode. And, it becomes harder to hold the camera steady.

Pictures are coming out blurry

On digital cameras it is always best to press the button half way down before taking the picture. This helps the camera focus, thus preventing blurry images. Always, always press the button half way down. Secondly, if you are still getting blurry pictures, there is a possiblity that the sensor in your camera is bad. I don't know how old your camera is or how long you've had it, but you would need to send it for repair, exchange it, or if it's under warranty maybe they'll send you a new one.
