Hi,

Yes you can - but not with a USB cable. USB is only for data (file) transfer.

What you are attempting to do is use your TV as a PC monitor, therefore it needs to be connected to your TV using a PC monitor cable (15-pin D-SUB/VGA). You will also need a separate audio cable from your PC to your TV if you want to use the TV speakers for audio. If you are using a receiver or amplifier with external speakers, you can connect the audio out from the PC directly to the amplifier/receiver.

It is also possible to connect the PC to the TV with an HDMI cable if your PC has an HDMI out port. However, some TVs wont accept an HDMI signal from a PC and this method of connection can cause other issues, so I would recommend using the PC monitor cable method.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

I want to watch free to air tv but there is no antenna port for my outside aerial the tv is a viano and is only a year old. I have austar and itmis working fine.

Which model Viano TV do you have? Some models have two different input sections. Some inputs are on the bottom of the TV The RF (coax) port and a few other ports (some models) are on the right side (as you face the back of the TV). This applies to the LED24DHD, https://iviano.com/tvs/23-6-full-hd-led-tv-with-built-in-dvd-player, and the LTV32HD, https://iviano.com/tvs/32-hd-led-lcd-tv-69 . I only see one model, the LCD37HD, that had only one input area. Several Viano TV manuals are available here: https://iviano.com/user-manuals .

However, there was a period when several manufacturers sold monitors as TVs. These did not have an OTA tuner (and no RF input) built in. For these TVs, you need a separate tuner connected to the TV using one of the HDMI or other video inputs. This can be a set-top box (some models now offer DVR features), a computer with a tuner (USB tuner or internal tuner card), or even an X-box with a USB tuner. Note: you'll need plenty of air space around the device. USB tuners can have even more over-heating issues.

I hope this helps.

UUuuhh how do i send photos

You TV will not be able to send photos, as it has limited functions and is not set to work as a full computer. You however can view (receive photos for viewing on the tv screen.) If your TV has a USB port, you can transfer your photos from your computer or camera to a thumb drive (A USB memory storage stick) which you then can plug into the USB port on your tv.
There are other ways to send photos to your tv, but there is not space here to get into how to do that.

When we plug the blu ray player into hdmi port and audio ports, we are only getting sound. The tv gives us a "no signal" and "invalid format" yellow box error.

Hello
Unfortunately your TV is only HD ready. This means that it plays video in 720p. A full bluray disc is 1080p. Im afraid your tv will most likely not be able to handle a bluray player.
:( sorry
Hope this helps

Through Sky+ HD when selecting the HDMI connection I get the following statement through Sky "This diplay does not support HDCP....." Any help please Rob

hi,

try to connect the set top box in any other HDMI input of ur tv. reason is bellow read it carefully.

p { margin-bottom: 0.21cm; } HDCP stands for High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection and was developed by ----------. It's nothing more than a security feature requiring compatibility between the sender and receiver, like HD cable set-top box and the TV. By compatibility, mean HDCP technology built into both devices.
Think of HDCP as a security license key like you would input when installing a computer program. Only this security key is invisible to you and me but not your TV.
It works by encrypting a digital signal with a key that requires authentication from the transmitting and receiving product. If authentication fails then the signal fails, which means no picture on the TV screen.

Buy a HDTV that has HDCP capabilities. Most will have this in at least one HDMI input but be sure to verify this before buying the TV.

Notice that "in at least one port." Not every HDMI port on the TV will be HDCP compliant so be sure to read your TV user manual if you plan on connecting a HDMI cable to your TV.

I have a 42" LG LD460 LCD thats attached to my PC, Problem is, it Does not fill the screen completely!! how do i do this on a LCD?? neet to move the picture horizantally

try to change the resolution of the output from the computer to 1920x1080 if your tv is a full hd tv.you can do that by going to control panel display settings if you have pc for mac click on apleicon on top left corner and go to system preferences where you can find display preferences which will help you to change screen resolution.
if your pc and tv has an hdmi port connect the tv and computer via hdmi cable

I TRIED TO CONNECT MY LAPTOP TO AN HD TV VIA THE HDMI PORT

Most probably it will be enough to press Fn + F5 to change the display output. Pressing this combination sequentially toggles between 3 settings usually:
Internal LCD
External output
LCD and external simultaneously.

The external-only option is the best, as it will give you an option to set a screen resolution suitable/optimum for your TV, as oposed to the resolution of your internal LCD display, which is optimum for your display, but doesn't use the full capabilities of your TV.

Good luck, and please come back with a testimonial/rating if helped.

Well, you can try to connect via the S-video port.
Here is the manual how to connect your laptop to a tv:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/xlob/dtg/en/en_dtg.pdf

Take a look at page 215. There you can follow step by step how ro connect via the vga port or the S-video port. I think you will fix the problem now:)

Good luck
